Men In Black Addition?

I admit it's been since the Fall of 2018 that I led a crew of Sims into Strangerville to solve the mystery there. I surely do not recall running into the Men In Black who tell Sims 'nothing to see here, move along.' LOL This after two police show up in the front yard of the lot my crew is staying in for the duration of their mission. All because two crew members decided to elope and immediately try for baby right where they were. LOL Suddenly shots in rapid fire go off. Crazy-insane. So, either the cops are from a mod I use, but I do not recall the Men In Black. It's a great addition, I'm not complaining in the least, just mystified.

MIB is part of the FBI esque division of the Military career. But for police to show up randomly somewhere with guns and you hear gun shots definitely sounds like that part could be from a mod that most likely shouldn’t even be discussed here lol

I think I read that if you pick the fruit and put it in the fridge or try to grow it that the men in black show up. I didn’t pick the fruit in my play through and they did not show up, but this was when it was first released.

The Sim-in-Black is from the Military career's Covert Operations branch, I think? Could be wrong; I never did the military career myself. I would assume they have NPCs like any other career, anyway.
FYI: Just because you can see my signature, don't assume that I can see yours.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off. ;)

I'm finding them in Strangerville. I don't recall running into them the few other times I've gone through this scenario. I like it, don't get me wrong, I just didn't expect it. LOL

I did have the Admiral pick the fruit. Seems to me it's needed at a certain point along the way …

Actually, the mod I use isn't one of those. I think that's what was so surprising altogether.

I don’t think the fruit is needed, I don’t remember my hero picking it. Unless it was near the end and the aspiration/ tutorial instructed him to. I know I never saw the men in black, but I thought that was because he didn’t pick the fruit.

But I did see in someone’s play thru or a trailer when strangerville first came out that if you had the fruit in the fridge or in the garden they would come take it away.

If your Sims live in StrangerVille, the Men In Black show up right after the Welcome Wagon leaves. The Welcome Wagon in Strangerville is usually several infected Sims, who plant Bizarre Fruit in the planter boxes and also put a few of them in your refrigerator. The MIB remove the planted fruit and take your contaminated refrigerator (not just the fruit). This happened to the first Sim I played in StrangerVille, so it's always been part of that world's script. I don't remember any gunshots though.

Well, they never did that in my game, I remember seeing the infected sims, I don’t think I invited them in though. And no men in black ever showed up. My hero was a new sim I created and played in the trailer in strangerville. I put him in the Military career.

I don’t use mods or CC and I haven’t heard gunshots in my game either. And the only time I see cops is when I play my sim who is the chief of police and she goes to work.

Thats because they come to your sims house and confiscate whatever the weirdo sims from the creepy welcoming wagon put in your garden or fridge. :joy:

    Besides
Ah, that makes sense. I don't believe I've experienced the 'Welcome Wagon' in Strangerville before. LOL Besides, I had the foresight to lock the front door.

My experience has been 3 infected sims show up as 'welcome wagon'. If you interact/let them in, one of them puts fruit into your fridge but the planting is not always. The 'feds' show up if you've had the welcoming thing. They will take your fridge even if your sim removes the fruit in advance into their inventory. As far as the outfits go, they were in their MIB ones only around the time the pack released. For a long time now the guy agents have been in women's clothes and gal agents have been in men's clothes. The only consistent thing has been sunglasses. The last time I played the story (a year or more ago) the fruit were irrelevant to completing it.

I have kept those strange fruits from Strangeville in my garden plant box and no MIB sims showed up at my sims' front door to confiscate them. But then again the private lot trait might have something to do with that.

If you put some in yourself, will the MIB show up?
I plan to have my Photographer sim take a vacation week in Strangerville to take pictures of desert flora and vistas.
She will then discover the strangeness of Strangerville and begin to investigate.

I would certainly like to experience the MIB just for the sake of immersion.

Personally, this was the very first time I ever had the Welcome Wagon show up. I've played the Strangerville scenario three times, now. I like to wait awhile in between as it can be very intense when you face-off with the Mother. Plus, I like that I forget much of what must be done, so that it's like new. I would just place a house in Strangerville, mark it rental and have your Sim take a 1-2 day vacation there. You may be lucky enough to have the Welcome Wagon show up. Or, you could temporarily move your Sim there using the freerealestate on cheat. Stay long enough for the WW to arrive and then see if the MIB show up. Play around with it, have fun. :)

I think that we should swap out MIB for SIB, ( Sim in Black ) or ( Sims in Black ). Because every time I see MIB, I think of the movie Men in Black or MIB. And that can be a little confusing to someone who might not know what we're talking about.

But, that's the whole point. I was immediately reminded of the movie Men In Black, by these Sims who showed up. For those who are baffled by the reference, just ask the question. I've had to do that many a time. I promise I won't bite off anybody's head. My Dad always taught us kids it never hurts to ask. :)

I was wondering why you had chose the name MIB. Then I thought about it for a bit, and came up with the conclusion that you were likely reminded of the movie Men in Black. Which would make sense because those sims were in black. So MIB or SIB, both would fit.:)

I'm currently playing a Sim in Strangerville. He's defeated the Mother Plant & is at Lvl 10 in the Covert Operator option of the Military career so he is a MIB. Today's task for him is to do something to with "10 steps ahead" - it might be plan 10 steps ahead. I'm not in the game right now so can't recall exact wording. I thought this had something to do with chess but can't find a way for it to come up as an option. Can anyone refresh my memory? Thanks!

According to Carl's walkthrough it means play chess for 2 hours.

Thanks! I did check Carl's site, as it's my usual go-to for gameplay questions but didn't spot the reference to it. I'll make sure my Sim plays Chess for a while longer!
