Anyone Else Not Able To Turn Mods Back On?

Maybe I'm having a duh moment here but I can't seem to get the Mods to turn back on no matter how much I check the box and restart the game. Is this an issue for anyone else post April 28, 2021 patch?

I had this issue with another patch and again with this one. You have to go into your sims 4 folder in documents and make sure the game version file and the config file have the same version number. If they don't, change the older one to the newer one.

I've been having this problem every single patch the last year, buuuuuuuut not this time. I haven't heard about RedShoe7's solution. I've tried many things in the past. Removing my entire Sims 4 folder, launching the game, and then moving mods back in seems to do the trick. To be on the safe side, I make sure high-risk mods (MCC, WW, etc) are updated, and I test them one at a time. It's hard to say for sure, though, because when I am having this problem I try every thing short of a virgin sacrifice to get the game working again.

That was the first time I've dealt with that problem. Weird.
