The next pack they create better be the greatest pack in the history of The Sims... exceeding ALL expectations of anything we've ever seen before! It better be the biggest pack ever! Because if they seriously wanna put out garbage like THIS, then they best be prepared to experience backlash!
And no, I don't feel bad for any backlash they're currently getting and will continue to receive... they deserve it! It's obvious they STILL haven't learned their lesson from past experiences... they should know better by now about NOT releasing garbage packs, but they aren't getting the hint, apparently. This is like the 3rd or 4th time they've experienced major backlash for releasing a pointless pack... when will they learn!?
Are you getting the hint that this game is not for you? It might be that it is going in a completely different direction than the one you want in future. Other Simmers may not agree with your comments particularly the way you are saying it.
Removed the last part here as it was unnecessary and potentially insulting. ~Rtas
So far from what I have seen of the pack in videos, I like what I saw. I love Star Wars (well, older movies and some Expanded universe and The Clone Wars and Rebels, but I’m vaguely aware of more recent ones), so this pack interests me quite a bit. 😄👍
I do feel a bit disappointed that features like babies and hotels are still not being shown yet, but I am willing to wait and see if those ever show up.
I really like the CAS and B/B of this game, and the gameplay is okay, so I do plan to buy this pack at a more cheaper price.
I'm a Star Wars fan so yes I'm going to get it even though it is based off galaxy's edge. I just wish we could customize it with the empire Palpatine and Vader for sith and replace Ray and others with Leia and Luke and the Jango fett clones. I'm all for fixing my own.
I'm buying it to support the TS4, but it's really far off of what I'm interested in. I'm sure that I'll be able to put some aspects of the pack to good use though.
Ahhh - (picture me as a scientist sim with a light bulb above my head), so everyone keeps saying no one asked for this pack blah blah - but uh, yeah you did when you asked for an Amusement Park pack. Journey to Batuu is an Amusement Park pack and that is why it is a vacation world that your sim travels to. - Your Welcome. 🙃
@rjssim purchase the pack because you are interested in the game play. EA is a multi-billion dollar corporation, they'll be alright if you decide to pass over this pack. Don't feel obligated to purchase the pack to be supportive.
wocka wocka wockaWho gave that puppy asparagus?please do not send me private messages - they creep me out 🤢🤮😱

I heard James Turner mention this on his Youtube channel today on his trailer reaction video....UPDATE I watched it again and omg I'm so sorry it was just speculation...I misunderstood.
Bunk Beds still remain Unconfirmed...I repeat, Bed Bunks are still Unconfirmed. Please ignore above mention. I will remove it from OP
It's okay, no problem
English is not my first language so sorry if I make any mistakes!
Well, that's kind of a letdown. One of the things that I was somewhat interested in was that there was at least another type of creature coming to the Sims.

This probably won't make you feel any less disappointed, but the reason they didn't make the Star Wars aliens into Occults was because in Star Wars, they don't have any special powers, they're just like humans, but with a different appearance. Something the devs told us about the alien hats/heads is that they are actually animated in the eyes and mouth areas instead of being treated like normal masks. They function somewhat like replacement heads. So if your Sim is wearing one, it actually animates like a real alien. And I guess there are specific reactions to those aliens on Batuu, they are treated differently. Devs were vague, so it's really unclear.
I'm interested in trying them out though, to see how they function. I just wish the skin tone on them covered the full body. That was a very strange design choice.

The masks are not customizable though which will make them all look similar and some of the costumes do not cover the skin fully so that means you can't dress then up in any outfit you want.
The won't be any different than normals sims so they won't have any specific function except maybe a moodlet that let's other people know they are aliens like Get to work

Right, they won't be customizable but there is a small variety of different aliens and alien features to choose from. The outfits will be limited by the way their skins are, like you said. Their faces will animate a bit when they look around and their mouths will move when they talk. They are Star Wars aliens. In Batuu, they are recognized as aliens. Still don't know the details of what that means because that info hasn't been revealed.
They are in the hats category, but devs said they are actually new Sim "heads". So they function in that way.

If they are new sim heads does that mean we can adjust them in CAS like we do with normal heads?
I doubt it. It's like a weird new thing they've come up with, lol. As far as I've seen, they only specified the eye and mouth areas as animated. I know one of the styles has some facial horn/tusk? variations to choose from and face markings. I wonder if making them fully adjustable would have potential glitch problems, since they have weird angles and shapes that differ from the standard Sim skeleton?
This will be the first time in two years that I'm not buying the pack on release day. I have all expansion, stuff, and game packs, so I'll probably buy it in several months on sale. Really disappointed in the theme of the pack (breaks immersion for me and there's no way to use the pack in a non-Star Wars storyline), the lack of a buildable lot in the new world, and the lack of value that it adds outside of Batuu. The knitting and Tiny Living stuff packs were the highlight of my year so far. Eco Lifestyle has kinda grown on me, but is still way too buggy to fully enjoy. But Star Wars? No thank you. Not excited. Really hoping the next expansion pack is awesome. Because so far, it's sad that stuff packs have been the most exciting releases for me over expansion and game packs.
I'm sick of EA giving us packs NOBODY asked for... this is becoming increasingly annoying... they KNOW what we've been demanding for since the very beginning and they're purposely ignoring us! For years, Sims fans have been DEMANDING things like farming, werewolves, more family play, casinos, amusement parks, etc... but THIS is what EA decides to create!? This is highly disappointing... and I'm speaking for the vast majority of Sims fans when I say that!
Never once did I or anyone else ever say "I want a Star Wars game pack!"... I mean, really... of all the brands they could've made a pack of, they choose Star Wars!? We've already gotten content for Star Wars in the past for FREE... and now they wanna make $$$ from it!? There are so many other brands they could've done...
They could've easily just created a regular space themed pack (which I wouldn't have necessarily been happy about, but it would've been MUCH better than Star Wars), but they didn't...
EA is purposely ignoring what fans are actually asking for... and it's sad. Paralives is looking better and better!
Unfortunately, knowing the Sims fan base, this pack will still make enough money for EA to not only justify creating it, but attempt to justify releasing more garbage packs in the future... just like what happened with 'My First Pet'...
I understand not making Batuu aliens a CAS occult but to make them hats is a silly decision. At the very least, they should be a part of body features in the HEAD section and they should come with a matching skin tone. There are a few that have a body color attached. When we got the OG SW costumes, the female with the tendrils will change her entire body when that "hat" is chosen. Another NOT fully thought out decision. Who's deciding these things because they obviously need help.
I am most likely buying it. Not fussed about the restrictions because if it works they can use the same mechanics to make other niche packs. I really want an apocalypse world. I also want a medieval or earlier period world. Blue painted Celts or toga clad Romans maybe. If Star Wars stays in Batuu then the other types might be possible without bleeding into realty based places too.

Boo - just boo. They could not create different life states? Like why. So basically Batuu is a Cosplay world. There are no real aliens

I think he means bright :P
Thank you @garapoes . Basically, you shed a lot of light on the subject.
I'm not expecting much since they even decided not to do a live stream for this pack

No they are not customizable. Just the eyes and mouth move.
