Because there was a leak on the official website of the new logo and it looks basically exactly like the adverts/logos/skylines of the Disney Star Wars park. A planet with three suns.
It also fits the hints we’ve gotten (the scrolls, the pig, etc) and, as you acknowledge, it’s an IP we already know they’re friendly with.
I can see it now...Darth Landgraab, Luke Zest, Hans Lothario, Princess Caliente.
What about Jabba The Goth?
I think they would code the characters as NPCs, with their special clothing and what not. Like they did with Father Frost and Grimmy.
Of course. It was a joke. (One of my “better” ones )
Although I don’t think there will be an NPC for any of the main characters. Too specific. I’ll settle for a Jabba FX. In the distance, as an audience member during the magnificent Pod Races we can have in the next Game pack.

How dies the pig fit in?
It may refer to a Gamorrean.
Or my recent theory, the Pig is Pork (when cooked, hence the little chef outfit) and in the description it's called 'Porc du Jour.'
A 'Porg' is also a famous little creature that resides in the SW Universe.
The logo, the 3 moons, the Baby Yoda hint addition, the fact that they asked us what brand we wanted a pack tie in with in a survey and I've seen a lot of people say they answered Star Wars or Disney in the answer (I said Disney myself), and the fact that it's something they've never done before (which they said this pack would be), the fact that they also have a Star Wars game, all seems to add up to me. I don't pretend to say 100% this HAS to be Star Wars, they've been known to surprise us. I wouldn't bet money on it at this point by choice, but if I HAD to bet money on something then Star Wars would be my pick

That's what I figure as well. My thought is that it'll be the theme park, not an actual alien world, so the characters will all be actors filling the roles and wearing costumes, not actual Jedi and Wookiees and whatnot.
Which then leaves the question of how interactive they'll be. I'm always disappointed when the game presents an NPC, no matter how weird, that my sims can't woohoo, have kids with, and/or marry. So I want the NPCs to be fully interactive. However, if it is based on the theme park, depending on how much attention Disney pays to things, that might not be possible.
If the pack is a destination vacation based on Galaxy's Edge, I'm sure they'll want to say that it's just like being there. And it won't be, but it's advertising, so sure. Disney might not want that to include being able to pick up cast members from the park and take them home with you. They're not real happy when you try that in real life.
Personally I think if it is a space pack it will have inspiration from Star Wars and not a full Star Wars pack as that seems too niche even for the sims and don’t see how it can be a gamepack. I don’t know what to make of all the hints and after the last fake leak of farming (which I was disappointed from) I’m waiting for a official ea announcement on the pack.
I mentioned this in the other thread, but I think we need to entertain the possibility that if it IS a Star Wars Game Pack, that it wasn't Maxis' choice to do it, but more likely EA/Disney MADE them do it. It could be a grab to promote other Star Wars Games, perhaps a lucrative ad deal.
Just because EA has the rights to make Star Wars games, doesn't mean any old EA game can do whatever they want with it. Universe Canon has to be preserved, their are rules and stuff for content. It's one thing to have a few easter eggs like costumes and a baby yoda statue. It's another to bring in game play elements directly and use the lore. As much as some of the guru are fans, I doubt they decided on a Star Wars pack. The amount of okay and hoops to jump through for that is a headache in and of itself.
I think it's more likely EA brought it to them and told them to make it happen with some points of what had/could be included. I'm not saying this to defend Maxis or anything. I just don't think it's something they asked to do.
I think simmer Erin is correct and the hints are directed more towards an update that is coming to the base game. We were offered an opportunity to take part in a survey a bit ago and one of the questions was what exp. or game pack would you like to see extended on ...lots of folks then talked later on twitter and in the forums that they had said they wanted to be their own chef in their restaurant business and how the fact that they couldn't was a huge let down..so the pig hint is suggesting something with dine out ...and i think so too
I'll be disappointed if it's a space vacation world. I want to live somewhere fantastical dangit. Glimmerbrook with it's roads just doesn't do it for me. My families are stuck living on that tiny island in Winderburg.
As much as some of the guru are fans, I doubt they decided on a Star Wars pack. The amount of okay and hoops to jump through for that is a headache in and of itself.
If it truly IS a Star Wars pack, I bet ya those Gurus couldn't wait to work on it.
Remember when they said 2020 would be the biggest year yet for Sims 4 content and we’ve got an Eco EP, Knitting SP and now this. I have to laugh. Surely nobody is enjoying this.

I don't remember them saying that, but So far I'm LOVING it! I've wanted an eco pack for sooooo long, and the knitting theme is one of my fav ever done! The "Now this" though no one knows what it'll be yet haha.

Surely they go home at the end of the day, like everyone else, no? Father Frost can have babies without without moving in, and if he moves in the game generates another one. Or maybe they will stay in character and refuse to move in with you. You give them your key and they'll be like: "No, I have galaxies to save, the empire is getting stronger! Farewell, my friend."
I don't care what pack it is. I just want it. I think it's casino/hotel with snowy mountains. I welcome Star Wars. I don't think they would do that though but who knows. What about all the other teases/clues from twitter? I think some maybe related to the Game pack. They filmed that show late last year. Anyway Dr. Ashley built a time machine last week. Then the icon leaked. One build and a family from that show are already in our game if you have EL. Based on Twitter alone and not the leak it is pointing at something different. We did a wedding destination challenge and one clue on Twitter was about eloping. Then there a french pig (Alps) from base game and scrolls. The scrolls say 3 words. Mystery, hint and clue if I remember correctly. There is also new stuff about the future cube. The stuff about the future cube may be about the show and not the game pack. Who knows! I think the objects the Guru twitted about though are related to the game pack. Who knows!

As someone who personally sees icons being too vague to tell really anything about the pack on their own (campfire for camping only makes sense if you know it is for sure a campfire; blocks for playdates; a flower, lotus or not, for spa; not to mention Strangerville's icon), this speculation is a little ridiculous. Is anything possible? Sure, but part of what made the paris pack haux so suspicious in the beginning was how everyone knew and believed so easily despite how little evidence there was to back it up. Everyone had a reason as to why it had to be the case, and better yet would fit for themselves and so many others.
So, this speculation feels like that haux to me. Not to say the icon is not real, just the developing narrative around it. Maybe the gurus will surprise us, but it is feels way too farfetched for me to believe without something more.
@Ivyeyed nailed it with the first post! I actually googled French alps and I was surprised by how the first few images reminded me of the icon's silhouette, so it could easily be our French + Winter get-away (maybe with hotels included).
I wouldn't be upset at all if this ends up being a Star Wars-themed pack, I'm actually kind of geeking over the idea - I kind of want to make a KOTOR-theme house now.

Is that you Chewie?

That the pack should bring hotels, resorts, b&b's, hostels... (that can be used in every world).
And it would have a northern/ice world with snow from early autumn to the end of spring and a beautifull mild summer.
Be it star wars/space related or not.

Oh I see.
Theme parks have absolutely been written off by the sims team. SimGuruGraham said theme parks arent coming to sims 4 , a while back.
