      I'm not sure if I'd qualify in any diagnostic capacity, but I did develop an awe/dread of deep ocean trenches as a kid, reading books on them. I tried reasoning with myself that it doesn't matter how deep the water is if you stay at the surface of it, but it didn't remove my fear. My imagination was too powerful. So I'd say a weak yes, but not in any way official. I also have a fear of heights, but somehow, depths seemed like that plus the fear of drowning plus something else harder to describe. I'll go to the beach, but if offered a chance to go down in a submersible, no thanks.
