Do you ever just...?

Do you ever just find a weird flaw with the building system and turn it into a odd design to your build? Currently building a 3 story mansion and playing with the terrain tool for the first time. For some dumb reason there is a part of the front porch that won't add a floor. Idk why, it shows it as green but when I place it, it doesn't show up. I think it's a weird bug or something from the odd placement of the stairs but have since moved those and it's still a problem. So, instead of fighting this since I've been on this build for hours and still on the floor plan, I decided to roll with it. Now there's a palm tree going through the middle of the front porch cuz why not? XD
If I figure out picture taking I'll post one.
