Introducing the Washburn Family! Things are a little strange with them. After their servo got kidnapped by aliens and now has a little baby of his own I decided to try to catalog some of the events of the family.

Misty Washburn has just started her dream of opening her own bakery. A strange dream for someone who has a degree in Computer Science. Then again it makes perfect sense when you realize she wanted to open a steampunk theme bakery with robots milling about. Misty is very hardworking to the point the sometimes she loses herself in whatever project she is in. Many times she has suffered from it and is still trying to find a good balance between her own workaholic personality and her family.

Ivan has just reached the top of his career in the writing field and at the same time reached the position of Global Superstar. Ivan started off as pizza delivery guy and never went to university (besides to deliver pizzas). This has always bothered him and despite being a bit of a longer, he craved the recognition fame would bring him. So it's with immense satisfaction that he reached the top even if he preferred the lack of paparazzi and fan mobbings when he's out and about. He loves his work as a screenplay writer, but more importantly, he loves spending time with his wife and child. Though years ago he would have never considered himself a family man.

Ellery just entered her childhood years. She feels a bit like the normal one in a family of high achievers and unique personalities. She's not sure if that is a good thing or not. Currently, she's hoping to make some new friends and find out what she likes. She is a very obedient child and has been since her toddler years, though she has been trying small bits of rebellion. Her recent being a picky eater...though she still ended up eating the food anyway. Small steps.

Wrench was created by Misty Washburn and since his arrival has been treated as part of the family. He is very close to Misty, Ivan, and Ellery but has always wanted something more. This led him to really delve into developing his culinary skills so he could help Misty in her endeavor to open up her steampunk bakery. Things were going great until he got an unexpected present through alien abduction. His daughter, Mesh. Being a parent is hard, but it was also something he has always craved. What does this mean for his life, he isn't sure yet, but he's just happy to have his daughter and know that the rest of the Washburn family has already accepted her as one of their own.

Mesh is an extremely friendly, outgoing and loving child. She can be pretty defiant but is quick to follow it up with a hug which melts everyone's heart. This does mean her father, Wrench, tends to spoil her a bit. Only rarely disciplining her. Born from a robot father abducted by aliens, Mesh is sure to have a unique life in store for her.

(A little summary of starting events, since I originally had no intention of following this family there aren't pictures of their beginning days, but going forward I'll take pictures of events as I update. )
University Years
Misty went to Foxbury Universty after getting accepted into their distinguished Computer Science program. Having a good amount of money from selling her home and living on campus. She didn't fall into the woes of being a poor University student. Determined to be the best student she could be and more, Misty dove into her program and signed up for the Bots Savants.
After her first term, Misty realized she couldn't manage the workload, but she pushed forward. Giving up most social events and working hard to earn her degree. The few relationships she made began to fade away but she was determined. Eventually, she ended up losing most of her friends and the beginning love interests she had faded away. The final straw was when she forgot all about Harvestfest until it was over and she broke down and found herself crying in the commons bathroom stall.
A New Love
While crying in the bathroom stall, she was heard by a passing pizza delivery guy. The man coaxed her out of the stall and comforted her. After she calmed down, the man introduced himself as Ivan Gibbs and told her to reach out to him any time she needed to talk. She quickly agreed. Afterwards, the two met up when they could. There were a lot of invites Misty turned down due to her studies, but Ivan was always understanding.
Eventually, in between terms, Ivan invited Misty to his house which led to flirting and their first woohoo. They didn't start dating right away, but after a few more dates, they eventually decided to make it official. Dating and school were still hectic, but Misty found herself happy though exhausted. She decided she wanted to one day open her own steampunk theme bakery and maybe even get a second degree in the culinary arts.
On romance day, Misty made it a point to go on a date with Ivan and there he not only gave her a lovely gift, but also wrote a beautiful card with it. At the moment, Misty knew she wanted to be with Ivan. So in the middle of her last term at school she surprised Ivan with a proposal. Ivan was shocked, but accepted.
In the end, Misty graduated with top scores and a new life ahead of her.
After graduating from university, Misty felt the weight of her future. Though originally she planned to get a second degree, she realized that she wasn't ready to go through the intensity of school especially with marriage on the horizon. So Instead she decided to get into the workforce. She bought a piece of land in Newcrest and immediately became overwhelmed at the prospect of building her house.
She called Ivan over and after some discussion, the pair decided to move in together and combine their money to buy a home. They two went window shopping and Misty fell in love with the Himeka Home. She was set on owning the home, though it was outside their budget. Ivan was conflicted, but Misty assured him that she had a high paying job offer in the computer science field and they could take out a loan then pay it back.
He agreed and they bought their new home.
Soon after they moved in, Misty discovered her fiance had a secret. Back while they had been dating, Ivan had been a serial romancer and had been seeing another woman. Misty was devastated. Ivan assured Misty that was part of the past and he was fully committed to her now, but Misty was unsure if she could trust him.
Since the couple had just bought a house together, Misty was reluctant to break things off. Ivan was set on proving his commitment to Misty after coming clean. The pair decided to delay getting married and see how things go between them. Misty threw herself into her demanding but highly profitable job at Obscure Laboratories while Ivan quit his job as a pizza delivery man and when into the art critic line.

There are some minor changes, but it's almost exactly like it appears in the gallery. The Newcrest area has a modern style and this house fit right in.
Though Misty was making good money through her job, Ivan was just starting out and the house debt hung over their head. The pair decided to get a new roomie. After numerous interviews, they found the perfect guy. He was a bit squeamish about things, but was nice. Things hit off well between the trio and they became good friends.
Ivan and Misty were still figuring things out between them while juggling their career and their roomie was a great listener. He occasionally had his girlfriend over, but that was never a problem. And he often cleaned up without them asking. Things were looking great.
Getting Fired
At least they were until Ivan was told to write a review of a restaurant by his boss that was only positive. Ivan was torn. He liked being honest with his reviews and to be paid to write a good review didn't sit well with him. Risking it all, Ivan stuck by his morals and wrote the review, embedding it with a secret code with his honest feelings.
At first it went on without a hitch, but then people began discovering the code and a buzz started. Ivan never expected the popularity the code would have and so it was no surprise it got back to his boss and he was fired. Coming home to tell Misty about what happened was no small feat, especially since he knew his fiance was struggling with burn out at her job and was looking to pay back the loan before going after her bakery dream.
To his relief, Misty was supportive, believing he did the right thing by sticking to his morals. The two discussed him using his newfound fame to find another critic job, but in the end Ivan decided to try a writing job.
As he started his new job, they got some more bad news. Their roommate decided to move on temporarily due to a family emergency, leaving them short once again on money.
Ivan start as his new job was lackluster, but eventually, he began publishing small books, focusing on short stories and poems. As he did, he noticed he got more and more attention. At first, he didn't particularly care, but with the fame he started getting more money and stability. Fame definitely had its perks. Things really started taking off when he decided to do his first screenplay. Despite that, his success didn't stop him from trying to fix his relationship with Misty.
He took her out and listened to her problems at work and tried to be a supportive fiance. Misty began opening up to him again and soon he was sure that maybe marriage was getting closer. There was still a strain, the woman he had seen back when Misty was in university kept calling, but he declined her calls, but he knew it irked Misty whenever she called.
Roomie Returns
Their old roommate returned from his family emergency and they trio began hanging out once more. But their friend had changed while he had been gone. It came as a shock to Misty when one day as she was working from home their roomie began to blow kisses at her and serenaded her.
She told him she wasn't interested without even a second of hesitation. Still, he persisted, stating he had always had feelings for her but kept them hidden. It wasn't until the death in his family that made him realize he had to grasp the moment. Again she refused. Pointing out they were both in relationships.
After that, he grew angry. Ivan returned home and the subject was dropped, but the roommate was angry for the rest of the day, being mean to her. Eventually, she pulled him aside and told him to stop. She valued their friendship and knew he had gone through a hard time recently, but she was committed to Ivan. Finally, he dropped it, but their pair was uncomfortable with each other for a while.
Misty thought about telling Ivan but worried about damaging the two's friendship, so she kept it to herself, promising to bring it up again if it happened again. Besides she had to sort out her own feelings. Ivan and her had been rocky but things were smoothing out and he had shown he was completely devoted to her. She figured it was probably time to let go of the past and look forward to the future.
With that in her thoughts, Misty began working on her newest robot, Servo.
Things were going well with Ivan and his new career. He was moving up quickly and his relationship with Misty was better than ever. Misty was entrenched in her work and making computer chips and mechanisms for her Servo on top of her regular work. On top of that. She made a cybernetic arm and it jammed up when she left to go to a guest lecture. He figured it was time to take Misty out on the town.
Ivan wasn't one for crowds and this was getting more difficult to handle as he grew in fame. Still, it wasn't crazy yet and he decided to sacrifice his loner status and go out to all the venues and make a day of it. So on their next day off, he took Misty to the ice skating park followed by, arcade games, and then a visit to the bowling alley and drinks.
It was a great night and they finished it off with woohoo in the sauna. Ivan was tempted to propose right then, but he wanted to wait until Misty was ready.
Hello Wrench
Misty was more than ready to marry Ivan, but she wanted things to be perfect. So she concentrated on making Servo. With Ivan's job and book publishing they almost had enough to pay off the house. The roommate situation was still a bit awkward. Their roomie hadn't hit on her, but now he had taken to having parties and they were getting more and more frequent. Misty hadn't had time to talk to him about it, especially after the whole robo arm getting stuck on her, but she knew it made Ivan uncomfortable to have a constant stream of strangers in the house.
It was aggravating or maybe she was more irritable lately. She had been feeling nausea a lot lately. Still, she'll make a doctor's appointment soon enough. She was almost done with her Servo. Misty worked hard through the night and finally, she completed Servo. With excitement, she activated him.
Wrench booted up and immediately began to look around for information while babbling to her excitedly. She spent the rest of the evening adjusting him. His traits were off, so she adjusted him to be family-oriented, she wanted him to know he was part of their family and to make extra sure she made him good and kept his original trait of geek so he could retain his own unique personality.
Ivan took to Wrench instantly, their roommate was a bit more hesitant, but warmed up to Wrench's warm and inquisitive personality.
The next day, Misty was hesitant to leave Wrench but the nausea was getting worse. A visit to the doctor brought with it big news. Misty was pregnant. Ivan took the news well. Their roommate congratulated Misty, but she could tell he was bothered. He snapped at her and then it was followed up with another party.
Misty tried to let it go and concentrated on Wrench. One day as she talking to Ivan about plans for their new baby, the pair decided they wanted to finally get married. Though they wanted to have a wedding eventually, they decided that for now they would elope and have a wedding when they renewed their vows. Excitedly, they eloped.
Though they had left what happened between them in the past, Ivan wanted to prove his devotion to Misty and so took her last name as a show of his commitment to her. Misty was touched and they both started their new marriage with a clean slate filled with love.
Goodbye Roomie, Hello Ellery
Their roommate took the marriage well. Or as to be expected. With another new party and then another and another. Luckily their roommate was respectful enough not to disturb them from their sleep, but it was still awkward waking up in the morning to find strangers in your kitchen.
Misty didn't want to sound like a jerk so she kept her mouth shut and focused on enhancing Wrench. Wrench grew quickly and easily became a vital member of the family. Unfortunately, he couldn't come with them when Misty went into labor, but he cheerfully waved at them as Ivan rushed Misty to the hospital.
Amongst a less than stellar doctor and a panic husband, Ellery Washburn was born. Happily, they brought their baby home. Unfortunately, that night, their roomie had yet another party and it was decided that was it. Surprisingly, it was Wrench that told their roommate it was time for him to leave. Wrench was already fiercely protective of their little one.
The roommate left and they continued on with their lives.
Things went smoothly from there. Wrench enhancements were installed quickly and he even began to get a zeal for cooking. Misty and him could talk for hours about recipes and cooking techniques. Ivan rose in the ranks for fame and his writing career and his screenplays royalties began to surpass Misty's pay. At that point, Misty decided to leave her job and get a new job on the culinary track.
The hours were bad and the pay low, but Misty felt she needed the experience before opening her bakery. Raising a kid was hard with her hours, but Ivan's schedule was more relaxed and Wrench was always ready to help. Wrench's help was incredibly important, but they wanted to make sure they stayed a big part of their daughter's life. Luckily, their daughter was incredibly clingy which made it easier, though the toddler years were rough. Her needs were constant.
Wrench eventually hit his final enhancement. As a surprise for Misty and Wrench during Winterfest, Ivan bought some land for their bakery. Misty was shocked, but also excited and they got right to work on choosing a store. They eventually found the Industrial Bakery, which was perfect for her theme. With that they decided to build a greenhouse on the property so it'll be easier to gather fresh ingredients and also to help protect servo and the others from rain.
Things were looking up and though Misty was still working, she spent her off-hours running the bakery with Wrench and playing with her daughter.
Alien Abduction
Things were getting better and better. Ellery hit her birthday and started school, making it easier for Misty to juggle the shop and work with Wrench's help. Misty was also getting closer to reaching her job goals and learning the technique that will keep her food always fresh. Ivan had just hit proper celebrity rank, which meant he had to wear a disguise when he went out but had its perks.
But then things changed. One night, while Wrench was outside talking to the plants. Something he and Misty picked up doing after delving more into gardening, he was heading back inside when he was suddenly taken by aliens. He was only gone for a moment, but afterward, he began to feel nausea.
The rest of the family didn't notice, but then everyone took notice when Wrench announced he was pregnant! How did a robot get pregnant? No one was sure, but Wrench was ecstatic. The family-oriented robot finally had a child of his own. Ivan and Misty were unsure what would happen next and if the baby would even come to term. This was a bizarre situation.
Still, they waited and as the pregnancy finally reached its third trimester, Wrench went into labor. They decided to have the baby at home due to the circumstances and sure enough, Wrench had a baby girl which he named Mesh.

The greenhouse was added by me so the utili-bots can work in it while it rains.
1st floor - I added the lice fridges so I can sell goods and expanded the front room a bit, because customers kept having problems looking and buying from the lice fridges when there was a crowd. This seemed to help. Otherwise, everything is pretty much how the original designer made it.
Basement
2nd flr - I love that there is a space for family members to rest, eat, and watch tv. When Ellery was a toddler, I added a toddler bed when I wanted to work and a potty and she was good them. The only problem I have now is that Misty tries to go watch tv or read a book up there when she's working now that she goes to the bakery alone and has employees. So I have to remove the tv and bookshelf when she is working alone. I have no clue why she does this. Her fun wasn't even low.
I love this bakery design. I want to get everyone in a steampunk uniform at some point.
In case you're wondering.
- I use the mod MCCC and no other mods. I prefer to keep my mod usage down and MCCC offers everything I want. I don't use custom content.
- I have all packs that are currently out, which means up to University, but might not be adding any new packs for a while due to funds. hahaha
I'll update this whenever something interesting happens since I play organically and like to just let things happen to characters for the most part instead of having a huge story plan. I have full autonomy on for this reason. It's just more fun for me this way.
Feel free to ask questions, make suggestions or comment. I don't mind having characters do suggestions as long as it's within their character.
Right now Mesh's birthday is coming up and I'm looking forward to seeing what she looks like as a toddler.
The big day was coming. I waited the night over, but then Mesh's birthday was pushed a day out again. I usually prefer to have babies age up on their own, but the next afternoon they were planning to go as a family to watch Ivan place his tile. Since Wrench had no desire to leave his child in daycare or with a nanny aging up it was. And look at Mesh now!
Wrench helps Mesh switch to her human disguise.
Ellery was so excited to see Mesh as a toddler she interrupted Wrench reading Mesh to sleep. Mesh was happy to talk to Ellery.
Mesh in her new pjs. At home, Mesh prefers to be her true alien self and Wrench agrees.
And Wrench finally tucks his daughter into bed. He couldn't be prouder.
Today was the big day. Ivan was going to do his tile ceremony on the starlight boulevard. Now that Mesh was a toddler the whole family could go together. Mesh had to put on her disguise but they all headed out. Ivan even invited their old roommate. They weren't as close as before but they were still friends.
The family arrived but as soon as the fans saw Ivan they cut off the entire family. Misty wasn't pleased.
Ivan finally places his tile.
Ivan was invited to stay for the Star Accolade Ceremony. There was a short mix-up where his family wasn't allowed inside. While they waited, Misty felt their old roommate behind her and she could already sense he was probably checking out her butt. -sigh-
Finally, the family was let in and changed into their formal wear. Then they watched as Ivan accepted his award for his screenplay. Mesh fell asleep during it.

Ivan kisses Misty. Ellery was completely grossed out seeing her parents kissing like teenagers.
After heading home, Wrench gives Mesh a bath. She's still in her disguise since they have a guest. Afterward, Mesh asks to play. Wrench twirls his daughter around.
After tucking Mesh into bed, Wrench has a much-needed discussion with the old roomie. He very happily tells the roomie to back off and let things go with his obsession with Misty. The old roomie takes the hint and leaves.
Wrench and Misty finish out the night chatting together about their day. They truly have a unique family and they couldn't be happier about it.
Also, can I just say how much I love the play animation? So, so cute. Wrench and Mesh always stealing my heart.
While Mesh is taking a nap, the rest of the family is starting in on decorating the tree. Little Ellery decides to take charge to make the tree perfect. She's in a bit of a mood.
While everyone grabs food and a nap, Wrench looks at the tree. A job well done.
Mesh sees the tree for the first time. "What's this?" she wonders.
Everyone gathers around to open presents and one of the Father Winters makes an appearance.
Everyone got something they wanted. And little Mesh runs around in joy.
Ellery has been kinda mopey. After a talk, Ellery admits she feels left out since everyone is so focused on Mesh. Misty gives her daughter a big cuddle to show her that she is loved.
Right before New Years the family gets together and goes to the Toddler Park. Despite its name, the park wasn't just for toddlers, but also children. It was a great way for both Mesh and Ellery to have fun.
The day started off with Ellery reaching out to Mesh and playing with her.
The two's relationship grew and they became friends. It was a bright start to the morning.
Once they got to the park. Mesh demanded a hug from her father. Wrench was happy to oblige. He wondered if Mesh was a little intimidated by all the people.
Well if she was intimidated it was soon forgotten as she immediately ran to the jungle gym to play Spacesport. How fitting.
Ellery went to the monkey bars where she met another boy. Honestly, all she met were boys. Ivan suddenly felt the urge to cloud gaze right by where his daughter was talking to a boy. Surrre. You're not fooling anyone, Ivan.
Ellery doesn't mind her Dad at all, and instead shows off her tricks on the monkey bars.
Eventually, Ivan leaves his daughter alone, but is grabbed by little Mesh who asks for Ivan to teach her some shapes. What an inquisitive mind.
After a while, the parents decide to take a break and chew on some grilled cheese sandwiches, Misty had packed for them. Though one parent is missing?
Wrench is back with Mesh, playing pirates at the jungle gym. A father's job is never done.
Misty decides to play chess and is immediately joined by a guy trying to chat her open. Both mother and daughter seem to draw the boys. Guess it runs in the family.
Just as the day is about to wrap up, Ellery has a temper tantrum.
Misty goes over and firmly tells Ellery to stop. Ellery immediately regrets her actions. In some ways Misty is happy to see Ellery have a temper tantrum, since her daughter has always been obedient and well-mannered. She wants her daughter to loosen up a little, but she's concern about her showing off due to feeling neglected. It was something they would need to work on.

I love this place. There aren't many places designed with a toddler in mind and it's nice to be able to take them places. Especially since this place, in particular, I can let them run around freely without worrying too much about their needs. I pretty much didn't have to change anything with this venue which is always a plus in my book. Often I run into glitches with venues designed for Toddlers, but this one there were no glitches.
Here's the park! I deleted some trees so I can get a better view, but there are actual trees there too.
With trees, though everything is all wintery. So not only functional but pretty.
Here's the ground level. There's a lot for toddlers as well as children. The main children's items are in the back. There are a wiz kid station and two arts and crafts stations as well as the monkey bars.
Here's the second floor. There's a toy box in the corner, but it's hidden from this angle. I like that it has a fridge with counter space. Good for grabbing food as well as hosting children's birthday party. Though if you want to bake on the lot you might have to add a stove or just bring the cake yourself. There's also two potties for the toddlers. The only thing I added to the lot was a mirror over the sink. I always forget to put Ivan's celebrity disguise on, so he needs a mirror to do a quick change.
Anyway, I highly recommend this lot for toddlers and children.
