It's been interesting seeing (and taking part in) the various discussions about music titles, band names and so forth, with quite a few people posting tracks that are obscure but nonetheless quite brilliant.
Some of these are quite emotive and, as a mid-60s aged geezer (and ex-musician), I find that there have been several songs over the past 50 or so years that have brought a tear to my eye - eithert of happiness or sorrow.
I'd be interested in getting an idea of what people think are emotive songs, what they mean to themselves personally, and perhaps why.
I'll kick off with a fairly recent song from 1989 by a band called Mike and the Mechanics (featuring Mike Rutherford of Genesis) called "The Living Years" - if you listen to the lyrics you'll probably understand why.
