I didn't like it for being a anti-war song, or more specifically, against the Vietnam War (which isn't very stressed in the song). Instead, I approved the idea of it's "about how these rich politicians and rich people start all the wars for their benefit and get all the poor people to die for them". Plus, a good guitar solo part worked well for me
And I'm browsing web again. I'm just another digital man in this digital world
Let's reminisce about the times we still struggle to get used to digital devices and the internet...
@luvdasims55 cool that you aren't attached to smartphones, I do like how it demands my attention but that's convenience lies in it... Flip phones are a common sight by the time I grew up, so I didn't have that kind of experience on museum quality pieces of technologies, I loved to learn what drives advancements (and the ultimate destruction) nonetheless :P
Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival
We all got some "It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no ______" times, don't we? Life picked us...
@LibertyTheFree I remember when you couldn't own a phone. Phones were owned by the phone company. When I was growing up we were on a party line with two neighbors. It was a huge technological advancement when we went to the cordless phone lol.
I remember seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show on our black and white TV. The Beatles had just come to America for the first time and were fairly unknown and just starting out. Their music was revolutionary and they just kept putting out hit after hit after hit.
You guys bringing up old stories and tech, had me remembering bits of mine. I was born in the late 80's, but my parents were fairly old school (father born in '45). I still remember using the rotary phone and remember our first tv, which was black and white. Didn't even get a cell phone until I was out of high school.
In the 1956 movie "The Man Who Knew Too Much" starring James Stewart and Doris Day, Doris Day sang the following song which must have really made an impression on me as I still remember her singing it. (In a rerun I am sure as I was only 2 in 1956.)

Freddy Mercury was the best male vocalist ever in my opinion. Not only did his voice have unbelievable range, but a really rich quality to it as well.
