Thing about Videos....

I have Windows Media Player, Movie Maker Free and Movie Creator: Free Editor.

Anyways, I tried to upload a video using these apps, but I got messages telling me that the video could not be decoded. Is there anyway to fix it? Or do I have make a video with some of the billions of pictures I've taken, LOL.

Thanks in advance.

Happy Simming!

That is basically telling you that you don't have the proper video codec. Windows Movie Maker tends to create videos in MP4 (a video format) Windows Media player is just a playback program. You have to then upload the movie to a hosting site. Namely Youtube, then when the video is uploaded there, it will give you a link which you paste into your post so that you can post it here.

I don't know exactly what problems you are having with Windows Movie Maker - I used to use the program when I was first making videos (for my photography). So you can do what you need to do in Windows Movie Maker. What formats are you working with?

My latest Sims 3 Wedding Video was done on Adobe Premiere Elements 14

I record the videos with the videoplay function in-game.

They appear in the Recorded Videos sections of The Sims 3 folder.

I put the Recorded Video section in Windows Video Player.

Once I downloaded the other software, I'd try to pick the video I want to use. I get a message that basically says the video is no good.

I go to upload videos section and there's the other to import my videos from Google Photos.

How long was the video recorded? Because I find that if the video goes over a length of about 1 minute, it corrupts. So you have to do short segments. Sims 3 video is coded in vp60 codec, so you have to find yourself a vp6 to MP4 codec to use in your Windows Movie Maker.

    Try this Codec: VP6 - https://www.moviecodec.com/download-video-codecs/vp6-decoder-16/
    VP60 (simple)
    VP61: advanced profile
    VP62: heightened sharpness profile
In the AVI container, this codec is commonly used in video captures for the Sims.

    - The MS Support forum can show you how to install your VP6 Codec in your Windows Movie Maker program.
