After the update with the sim count and all of that, I wondered if my family trees would be affected. I have loooong generations and I really loved having those. I thought I read somewhere that the family trees would not be affected, but when I had a look in my game now, lots of links are missing, sadly. Is this how it's suppose to be? Has it always been this way?

@ArtsyBanana My problem is that I don't really care too much for ghosts, I just like to have the family trees so I can look back on the sims I've created.
My understanding is that in the current system, your family tree stays intact even when dead Sims are culled from the game. The game can't, however, restore to it Sims who had already disappeared from it before the November 2017 update. If you have had dead Sims culled (they won't be, e.g., in Relationships anymore) and they have at the same time disappeared from the family tree, that may be a bug. You can report it at http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/bd-p/The-Sims-4-Bugs
