I think there's something special about that statue that hasn't been mentioned yet, and I don't know what it is, yet.
I was roaming around the square when I got the interaction to 'see what's happening' in my queue. I let my sim go and she led me to the statue, which was glowing with a purple hue. I tried to click on it but nothing came up. I wonder what's this about, if that statue has some sort of beneficial properties for the pets and strays in that area.
