NPC's (played/unplayed households) sending gifts??

First time I've ever seen this:



(Background: Marina is Cassie's mother - Cassie is a teen moved away into a San Myshuno apartment, Marina still lives in Willow Creek)

How on earth can you send gifts to other sims in game? I've never seen this being available unless I've been missing something frightfully obvious...

It was added on with the Parenthood game pack, you should get a small gift in your mail I think in about 24-48 in game hours.

I got a 'Chompy the Monsta' in the mail without knowing why:

Then my Sim was killed off by the game and I have not played since.

I see this happen frequently in the game after a baby is born. The gift ought to show up in the mail next time the mail carrier arrives.

@Nik24X7 and @Pamtastic72 - yep, just read up on the Parenthood pack, apprently family likes to send your sim stuff for birthdays and perhaps other special events... mine got a Decorative Plate... wow... I'm... overwhelmed...

In one case a sim of mine got a present from an already deceased relative.
