I read that the little owl nightlight that came with Parenthood helps with nightmares.

Also, while the high chair might be more appealing to Miss Peregrine, if you have a toddler who pushes food off the tray, get rid of the high chair. If you put the food on a table, the toddler can reach it and climb into a chair. They'll eat anything, too.

Oh, thank you for that. I will put in some night lights.
Yeah, I discovered leaving food out for them to take to a chair somewhere.
For now on I will use the high chair only for the sake of immersion. My sim parents are too busy to bothered with that.
I wish EA would slow down the passage of time, or give us some speed sliders. I've spoiled by the relativity mod in TS3.

Things are starting to improve for Miss Peregrine.
She has Meadow, her plants, and her own needs under control.
Life is starting to be less stressful.
    05-30-17_8-52-51nbspPM.png

So let's toss that all out the window.
    05-30-17_9-12-47nbspPM.png

    New arrival: Zane Delacroix.
    05-30-17_9-13-00nbspPM.png

    This is a vampire?
    05-30-17_9-13-36nbspPM.png

He seems quite the little charmer.
    He's not what she expected.
    05-30-17_9-13-50nbspPM.png

But then again, charm probably comes naturally to vampires.
She had better keep that in mind:
    05-30-17_9-14-24nbspPM.png

    He is hungry.
What do you feed a vampire toddler?
    05-30-17_9-14-33nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-15-13nbspPM.png

    Chips.
    05-30-17_9-15-27nbspPM.png

Now is a good time as any for Meadow to meet Zane.
    05-30-17_9-17-57nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-18-12nbspPM.png

To be honest, I wish I could blow past all this and get a house full of children of various stages. :)
It's going to be a long time until the next EP that I want, so I might as well take things slow.
    05-30-17_9-20-59nbspPM.png

Miss Peregrine focused on the children this day.
She needs to work on her parenting skills.
    05-30-17_9-25-31nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-28-14nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-33-44nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-35-52nbspPM.png

They will share the same room until the next child arrives.
Zane isn't a vampire threat as a toddler.
    05-30-17_9-50-34nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-56-17nbspPM.png

Miss Peregrine reviews the day and records her thoughts in her journal.
    05-30-17_9-56-43nbspPM.png

"Zane Delacroix arrived today, and despite some misgiving about taking on a vampire child, I welcome this challenge.
I may be his only chance of not becoming a parasite on humanity."

    05-30-17_9-56-30nbspPM.png

"Having been fed on by a vampire who invaded my home, I am all the more determined that this child does not become one of that ilk."
    05-30-17_9-57-07nbspPM.png

    05-30-17_9-57-56nbspPM.png

"Vampires do have alternatives to their lifestyle and cravings.
Zane will be raised to have better values."

    05-30-17_9-58-20nbspPM.png

"He may even choose to take a cure."

Pulling out my mods folder stripped it of CC and I replaced the removed content.

Wonderful - will have a look for it in the Gallery.

Are you enjoying Parenthood so far? I am - I'm finding the new gameplay quite subtle, which is fine by me. I often find new, 'in your face' gameplay gets boring quickly - e.g. the festivals from City Living - so I'm happy that this is more of a slow burn and that discovering new things takes longer. One thing that bugs me slightly is that parents can't punish a child, e.g. if they break curfew, until they reach level 5 I think. But, I guess if you start parenting your kid from when they're a toddler, then by the time they reach teenagehood, your parenting level should be more than 5 - a lesson learned from not starting a new family from scratch I guess.

    Sorry I haven't been updating. :)
I am going through a room refurb/refurnish project as well as a life decluttering.

It's hard to believe all the stuff I have accumulated over the years, but the evidence is right here in front of my face. :#
I have sold a lot of my books to a used books retailer.

It's too bad none of you got to witness my absolutely authentic face palm when I later found a cache of books stored in a flat storage box under my bed. I had forgotten that I put them there. I knew the box was there, but I just forgot what was in it. I suspect there will be a second purge when the room is complete and it's time to put things back. It's feel good to rid of stuff.

I will probably post a status update.
I am looking forward to the point where I get all my sims in place and get them aged up to children and teens, but it's slow going and this room makeover is making it worse. I will be glad when it is finished.

    The gardener!
Are we ever glad to see you!
Too bad she's in a blue funk, but some hard work in our garden and greenhouse should be therapeutic for her.
    05-30-17_10-10-47nbspPM.png

Miss Peregrine managed to crank out another children's book.
    05-31-17_1-03-24nbspAM.png

    Liza Pancake invited herself over.
    05-30-17_11-47-41nbspPM.png

You are welcome to drop by anytime, Liz.
    Anytime.
    05-30-17_11-47-48nbspPM.png

Miss Peregrine cooked pancakes, but Liza isn't having any.
I guess she gets enough of that at home.
    05-30-17_11-48-51nbspPM.png

Yes, that is the smell of Meadow, the Mess Maker.
    05-30-17_11-49-04nbspPM.png

And this is where our day turns upside down.
Apparently the gardener skipped out on us without tending the plants and the children woke up:
    05-30-17_11-55-51nbspPM.png

    Bugs.
We must keep the value of those blue berries up.
    05-31-17_12-08-00nbspAM.png

Meadow's motor skills have significantly improved.
    Look at her go.
    05-31-17_12-56-21nbspPM.png

    No more high chairs.
Miss Peregrine simply does not have the time.
    05-31-17_12-55-06nbspPM.png

    They can eat here.
    05-31-17_12-55-32nbspPM.png

In addition to being a charmer, Zane is quite the artist.
    06-01-17_12-21-58nbspAM.png

The kitchen floor is hardly a canvas however, so Miss Peregrine quickly puts an end to that.
    06-01-17_12-22-21nbspAM.png

Being a toddler veteran, Meadow has to add some helpful commentary.
    06-01-17_12-22-29nbspAM.png

Favoritism can't be helped at this early stage.
    06-01-17_12-02-56nbspAM.png

    Meadow is her number one.
    06-01-17_9-05-12nbspAM.png

    So cute.
    06-01-17_8-58-03nbspAM.png

I have enjoyed my time with Miss Peregrine, but I must get my other households started.
She is the main household I will be following though.
    06-01-17_9-19-52nbspAM.png

    This is the Bloom family.
    06-01-17_9-20-10nbspAM.png

Melonie Bloom as a toddler. :)
    06-01-17_9-20-20nbspAM.png

It's been a long time since I have started a family from the bottom.
They will work themselves up to a nicer home.
    06-01-17_9-45-35nbspAM.png

Jennifer Bloom is teaching Melonie to say please and thank you.
    06-03-17_6-52-18nbspPM.png

    [mm hmm]
    06-03-17_6-52-31nbspPM.png

    06-06-17_12-03-56nbspPM.png

Yet another opportunity to work on her parenting skill.
    06-06-17_12-04-29nbspPM.png

Michelle Brooks (aka Angry Girl) is living in Oasis Springs with her mom.
I get to play out how Michelle became angry girl.
    06-09-17_8-00-48nbspAM.png

Cairo Firenze is right around the corner from Melonie in Willow Creek.
    06-24-17_3-34-48nbspPM.png

I am looking forward to getting more of my Sims into the world as toddlers.
I have time off next week, so I should be able to catch up with my simming. :)

Meadow is doing very well as far as her kills go.
She is about master her imagination skill.
    01.png

If she can stop chewing on the book.
    02.png

How about we have Miss Peregrine help her cross the finish line?
    03.png

Afterwards they had french toast for breakfast and a chat.
    04.png

The rest of the day was spent attending their needs and skills.
    06.png

Tomorrow is an important day for Meadow.
    05.png

She finally gets to age up.
    07.png

Add those magical candles to the cake and we are good to go.
    08.png

TS4 toddlers are quite adorable and well done generally.
    09.png

But they are just tedious enough to look forward to aging sims up.
One child and one toddler sounds really good right now.
    10.png

I can see that these default clothes will not do.
    Blue hair?
    11.png

    That's better.
    12.png

    Cake.
Zane discovers that birthdays are the best celebrations ever.
    13.png

Meadow has the social butterfly aspiration. She will pursue the same path I began when she was a Young Adult in my other save.
    14.png

She also has the cheerful trait and the Top Notch Toddler trait for maxing all her toddler skills.
    15.png

Zane is only a couple of days behind her, so he will be aging up soon.
    16.png

Right now he feels the need to dance.
This is a party after all.
    Oh, there goes the doorbell.
    17.png

    New Arrivals.
    18.png

I have to imagine the dismay Miss Peregrine is feeling for going from one toddler to now having four.
    19.png

But then again, that's probably just me.
Miss Peregrine probably lives for this.
    20.png

The are quite the surly bunch though.
    22.png

    Hunger pangs.
They are really hungry. The will go back to being cute and adorable once they get some cake in them.
    23.png

    Bastet.
    24.png

    Hecate.
    25.png

    Ceridwen.
    26.png

One slice wasn't filling enough. They are off for more.
    27.png

    28.png

Meadow sneaked into Miss Peregrine's room for some shut-eye.
I need to set her up with a new bedroom.
    29.png

    30.png

"Sure, you can have another slice of cake."
    31.png

    32.png

Miss Peregrine had placed this bust here.
She's getting really good with that lump of clay.
    I suspect it's a stress reliever.
    34.png

Hunger satisfied, Hecate sets off to find some fun.
    35.png

Perhaps Ceridwen will have interests in the arts.
    36.png

    37.png

    Hecate finds the doll house.
Good. Get an early start on those imagination skills.
    38.png

Sorry, you are being evicted Zane.
This room is for the new girls.
    39.png

You get a room all to yourself.
Meadow will take one of the bedrooms in the attic.
    41.png

    "Time for bed, Bastet."
    42.png

    43.png

    44.png

    "Your turn, Ceridwen."
    45.png

None could climb these stairs for some reason, but they didn't have a problem with the entrance stairs.
    46.png

    Did I say Imagination skill?
    She's working her destruction skills.
    48.png

Well at least she's sad about it.
    49.png

    I take that back.
She's seems quite proud of herself.
    50.png

Well, Miss Peregrine isn't going to come down hard on her the very first day.
She'll just hug it out for now.
    51.png

Meadow is up and a bit hungry.
She heads down to the kitchen for something to eat.
    52.png

She suddenly becomes very tense and I don't think it's about the new toddlers added to the household.
    53.png

    "We have an uninvited guest."
    54.png

    "What? Meadow?"
    55.png

    "You'll see."
    56.png

    Miss Peregrine shrugs it off.
Meadow must be going through a phase.
    57.png

    She is really tense.
I looked around and didn't see anything.
    58.png

    [Creepy violin music]
    59.png

    Okaaaay! :o
That explains it. I guess Meadow's original care givers were right after all.

Loved the update and pics! I was thinking, she does not look sad, she looks like she's gloating, lol. The expressions on their faces are priceless...you're the expert at catching them, well done.

This is the point that I was looking forward too since those 3 turned out so cute. :D
Zane will be aging up in a couple of days, so it won't be so horrible... but,

    I have a new distraction.
I bought Cities: Skylines a long time ago because I was so dissappointed in the direction SimCity went.
I didn't even bother to buy it even at bargain basement prices.

So I am finally getting around to Cities: Skylines and I am so addicted. I've spent the last several days playing it almost continously, barring eating and sleeping. :#
    Cities%202017-07-05%2016-59-11-02.jpg

Cities are huge in this game compared to SimCity. This map has unlocks the play area one section at a time. 3 are unlocked ABOVE with an addition 6 more to unlock. SimCity's build areas barely make one of these squares. I have a mod that makes it 25, but I only need 12.
    Cities%202017-07-06%2015-34-48-07.jpg

This is actually my second version of this city.
The first version was what I considered a sketch city. I played free-form, without a plan.
When I was done, I knew what my districts would be and what were about. So I started again with a mostly tested plan and fixes for what was seriously wrong with my sketch city.
    Cities%202017-07-06%2016-06-33-42.jpg

    Cities%202017-07-06%2016-43-14-29.jpg

    The Leisure district.
My city is really rolling in the tourism dollars.
Funny side note: their little people are called Cims.
    Cities%202017-07-06%2023-19-24-81.jpg

It is everything I was hoping for SimCity.
Too bad EA went for small, social, and always online. :p

I used to play SimCity back in the day too (not the latest dreadful online multiplayer version), so Cities: Skylines does look a lot like it, better even.

A bit off topic, sorry, so under a spoiler:
You play Mass Effect: Andromeda, right? I'm thinking of getting it but I've read that a recent patch has made it unplayable for some people on Windows 10 64-bit, which is what I have. Have you had any problems?

I haven't patched it yet. I had started a second play-through but lost interest. I think I will give it a longer break before playing it again.

    Hiatus

I really do like the new GP and the addition of toddlers, but I feel like I am forcing myself to play.
There are other games that I would rather be playing, and I am playing them, plus I feel like my current game, while interesting, is a bit of a dead end without University.

I have games, movies, books, and not enough time to enjoy them all, so I think I will put TS4 aside and only pick it up if I am currently bored with other stuff and need to play my sims. I just hope we get Uni next year. We will probably get Pets this year.
