Hey guys
My laptop has died and terrible and traumatic death.
However laptops are not like the dog you have to wait to buy because the last one only died yesterday.
In all other aspects of life, I would love, love, love to move onto a macbook, the only thing holding me back is obviously the sims. So. I'm not techy enough to know this so help a sister out - what's it like on a mac? Is it no different or would I be making the worst decision since they decided 5 life stages would be a fine idea?

Other than that, you should be fine if it has the specs. My macbook pro was required for my animation classes so I just got what they suggested. I don't know what the specs are like on other macs.
You may want to post this to the technical section of the forums, you will get a lot more help.

When it comes to gaming on a Mac, you'll need to purchase one that is equipped with a dedicated graphics card. Gaming on any integrated graphics card - Windows or OS X - is an unwise choice, as they are not made for any gaming. When it comes to Windows, you are pushing beyond its capabilities and have the chance to permanently damage your computer.
You'll need to look at the 15-inch Macbook Pro that is equipped with AMD:

For the iMac, you'll need the 27-inch:
