Various medicine for different illness

With the awesome Get To Work pack, I love going through the doctor career. I notice that each illness can be from multiple sources.
It seems a bit unrealistic (or less challenging) that a sim can simply order a bottle of "GET BETTER" and be fine. What if different medicines treat different symptoms. For example, if your sim is itchy, you should order the lotion instead of the elixir. If your sim has a headache, the cranium deflator tablets would be better. Something that I think would add some more realism and challenge to the game.
Also, does anyone know how to go to the hospital with your sim if it isn't their career?
