Mods/CC Users & Fans Unite!

It has come to my attention (not recently, mind you...) that there are some people in these forums who are decidedly ANTI-Mods/CC.

I am not one of those people, I'm probably the biggest PRO-Mod Cheerleader you'll ever meet... and I don't even use many, or much CC at all.

I don't know about anybody else, but I personally have been made to feel uncomfortable *enough* in some of the non-mod areas of these forums, that today I decided to come here to Gameplay Mods and create a new, hopefully safe (I'll do my best to keep it that way, flamers will be reported), thread for those of us who DO enjoy adding mods to our game, to give us a place to discuss them without being made to feel we're wrong for using/enjoying them.

I would love to hear more about what mods and cc people are playing with, especially if it's been shown to work with, or has been updated for, the recent (since June 2 Dine Out) patches. Links=awesome.

My favorite mod, of course, is MC Command Center. I'm not going to turn this into a wall of text about its virtues, but if anyone wants to know more, I'll tell you anything I can about it.

I have a 2nd favorite mod now, too... Show/Search Sim Info from itasan2 at MTS. Great one for details nerds like me.

Anybody willing to come hang out and "talk shop" with me?

Yeah it bugs me. There was this movement with TS3, too. What bothers me is the superior attitude (from BOTH sides sometimes). Nobody is better because they do or do not use mods or CC. I use mods. Frankly, TS3 was absolutly UNPLAYABLE without them. TS4 needs some tweaking too. I use CC (though, these days I tend to be Maxis Matchy). If someone doesn't like it, it's their problem.

These forums have always had a problem with bullying. It seems worse these days. Which is why I only venture into certain parts of it.

I hear you. Yesterday was not pleasant for me "out there" at all. That's one reason I came "in here" to Gameplay Mods and decided to put this thread up today.

Tired of it. You'd think there would be room for all of us to coexist peacefully, but I guess some people just live for drama. And if they don't find it, they make it. <shrug>

I don't plan for that to happen here.

I can't believe that people are that terrible that they would be mad at someone else's decision to use mods/cc. I love mine so much- even the whole process of downloading, putting them in, figuring what went wrong when something glitched, etc. Also, for future reference, off in the ts4 Stories and Legacies section we're very mods/cc neutral (aka you're awesome whether you use them or not).
My favorite mod (that hasn't been listed already) is UI Cheats Extension- it makes setting up for photoshoots or for challenges that require a lot of money-movement so much easier.

Some people like to say,"I'm playing the way the creators intended or the natural way" just because they don't use cc or mods and I don't understand them at all. If the creators of the game truly had problems with it then they would've never allowed it. I think sims with no modifications have the same look to them and I hate it. Mine stand out from the game a lot in sims 3 and sometimes I think about getting rid of all the townies because giving them all makeovers takes too long. I know this is about sims 4 but I haven't been playing it.

Pssh, I didn't exactly SPECIFY game version. These are Sims4 FORUMS, but when has THAT ever stopped anybody not playing it from posting? Haha!!

I never modded sims3. Should have and will, if I ever play it again. Maybe I'll hit you up for ideas if that ever happens. Do you use NRAAS? Any Twallan stuff? Just curious.

Do you *have* any of Sims4? Again, just curious.

I called those non-modders "purists" in one thread yesterday. It wasn't terribly well-received.

Yeah, I got run out of a thread yesterday over my love of mods. <shrug> And broke in my till-then-unused Ignore filter, too. Years I had it empty... it isn't today.

UI Cheats is cool, but not long ago *something* here snagged for me, and only taking that one out fixed it.

It MAY have been something else broken and that one just SHOWED it to me, though. Not sure, it was a pretty weird game meltdown. I've gone through them all again since then, just haven't put UI Cheats back. MC really does pretty much everything else it offers, and anything not covered, I haven't missed yet.

It's a great mod, I still recommend it. But personally I found I was only using it for the specific motive-filling, which is just as easy to do with cheats now that I've copied them into a text file and can just copy/paste.

My ignore filter also used to be unused... until the gender patch. In my book, the rule is that if you offend me, my sims, or my friends, then you get your name on that magic list.

Little bit of maybe TMI here... my 14yo born-daughter has informed me and hubby that BOY > girl, and there may be an interesting life ahead for our "new" son. Name change and everything. Not legal (yet) but school uses chosen name, not given name. Very cool (alternative but they're brilliant!) school. My "baby" (2 kids, oldest is 25) is a VERY talented artist. That did not come from me, I'm more into words. Obviously.

(Sorry, not sure how to put that... shoot, I'm not sure how to HANDLE that! So far, one day at a time is working okay.)

"She" was originally named for a dear (and departed) friend of ours who happened to be a lesbian. I haz 'sperience with all kinds of interesting people. If I'm not involved, I really don't care who someone else chooses to sleep with... not my business.

And to those who harp on mods or cc, pretty sure people can play the games they paid for however they want. It's not a competition. It's not an MMO where people are 'cheating'. There's no prize at the end. Play how you want to play.

I personally don't use any faster mods- it's a lot easier to take screenshots when stuff takes longer! Plus, I could just speed the game up if I'm waiting for something interesting to happen.

@egwarhammer I saw on another thread (now can't remember) about more clubs per sim, that was something you were looking at for someone else, Neia also has one, it's 9 sims per club, I know someone said Zebru updated theirs as well but it can't hurt to have more then one updated mod for people to choose from, it's over at MTS http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=571322

Also there's been an update to Show/Search Sim Info, small one, but nice for supersims with tons of traits. Which one to download is noted in the files list, 1.8.1.

I looked at one that had so much going on, the window boundaries were outside the GAME window boundaries. Had to X out of it. He's shunted that info to the notifications window instead, works beautifully.

Mod post, for those of you that don't like your sim children waking up at night because of the monster under the bed (I have heard that the EA night light doesn't always work)but you would still like your child to be able to talk to the monster etc, here is a mod for you
