Yes, NEPS did indeed die.
It was declared dead in October 2019 with the announcement of Discover University;
It is a pack I have enjoyed despite some unfortunate flaws. It allowed me to continue playing my sims normally.
However!
The body of NEPS has now been exhumed, and placed in an incinerator, to be destroyed utterly,
with the announcement of The Sims 4 High School Years.

Finally teens will get their due. Of course, like University, there will be some lack luster areas,
but this pack should add some nice touches to flesh out the teen age stage to further distinguish it from Young Adults.

Well I think I have N.E.P.S.
(Nonexistent Expansion Pack Syndrome)
The symptoms?
N.E.P.S. Symptom #1:
You have your game the way you want it and you love it.
However, you can't get yourself to play it because it doesn't have the expansion pack features you need yet.
Your sims are great, but you don't want waste your sims on the game as it is.
N.E.P.S. Symptom #2:
You don't want to experience any other content like Dining Out and Kids Room Stuff until you can play your sims the way you want.
N.E.P.S. Symptom #3:
So you don't really play.
All you do is check out what the latest patch has added, or try out new mods, or CC.
N.E.P.S. Symptom #4:
Or you simply visit the game from time to time because you miss your sims.
N.E.P.S. Symptom #5:
You take pictures, mess about...
And then you exit without saving because you don't have Generations, or whatever unannounced pack you desperately need.
For me, that missing pack is University.
This is related to N.E.F.S.

One Sim hour later....
Repeating game play you have enjoyed in the past.
Olivia built and operated a clothing boutique from scratch. I became bored with it after a patch ruined her retailing mojo. It was like the game reset her business. So I sold it all off and used the money to buy her house on the cliff.
I will buy the business back, unfurnished, and play it again.
I did enjoy it while she had it.
I usually plan everything prior to release therefore I don't spend any time on career advancement. You could try commanding NPCs to engage in social activity with scripts...
or create a floating venue if you don't need walls!
I am clueless as to what you mean and why I should do this.

But I can't take her too seriously, obviously.
I am going forward with her raising the money to buy her clothing boutique back. She got smacked with a $12,000 bill which set me way back, so she is painting and writing more stories like mad to raise the cash. She needed to get out and party after that.
Ah, poor Melonie asleep back there on the love seat.
I do have a ton of CC bookmarked, waiting to be tested.

I know the game will be so much more enjoyable if I just had these packs.
The wait is torture.
Anyway, Bastet called asking if it was okay for her to drop buy.
Having Bastet over is only asking for trouble, but I like her anyway.
Gonna have to go to her house to make her give it back.
I schedule character re-creation and search for appropriate content when I need to review CC lists, unfortunately there really isn't much higher quality custom content either and I don't care for pink and green hair or flat textures.

I do try to check out my main CC providers every weekend just to see what they have come up with.
I used to check out the My Sims 4 Blog too, just so I wouldn't get hopelessly behind and have to dig deep to see what's new.
I know what you mean by the colored hair. The game seems to love put pink, green, and purple hair on townies.
There is one hair maker that provides an alternative choice of natural colors along with the crazy ones.

Ceridwen is the prettiest, but Bastet (brown skin) is my favorite.
I'm still not sure what to do with them, but I do find them entertaining..
I hope we get more content that I can use to add to them. A custom trait has helped.
I have seen this a few times in the past myself although I have never suffered from it, I can imagine there will be an increase in players with this syndrome once the next EP gets announced
Yeah, I'm feeling a little bit of that too...both for unreleased stuff that I desperately want (werewolves and witches) and for released content that I can't get quite yet (Get Together). Even with the latest drama, I still love this game...
You are right on the money.
You inspired me to send her out for a night on the town, getting some culture.
(Also, I would love to have some supernatural content too. I wish witches could turn their cat familiars into Cat Sims.)
At the Art Museum.
One of my sims has an art club that hangs out here. They are filling the museum with their art work.
Bastet lifting a painting here and there gives them more room for new creations.
It's a win/win situation.
That's something for me to do.
I should get old "Art Boy" and have him and his pals fill this place up for Bastet to get some choice items.
I would like to get her and her fellow catpanions out of that tiny house.
I wish kleptos could skill up and break into homes and closed community lots.
If they announce Generations, or Seasons, I'm sure I will experience it.

You spend time in CAS making sims that you don't need, since your game is already loaded with CAS sims.
But who knows, a new town might appear and these stored sims may come in handy.
This one is based off a sim made by zuno3012.
I found her by randomizing from the gallery. I thought the orignal sim might make a great Meadow Thayer.
What do you think?

I gave up on 'supporting characters' when I realized that there would be no possibility of re-creating the 400+ family members and 100+ extras from the previous version. There is barely enough content for one character's wardrobe.
It would make some interesting reading if they did, at least for the Generations part.
Just imagine if they announce a Generations EP without toddlers though, the amount of popcorn being sold would be record breaking!
