help~ i can't install the game i downloaded.

not sure where i should post this, but i can't find anything online about it, so i figured i'd try here.

anyway, i bought the sims medieval deluxe edition today through origin. i downloaded it successfully, but it won't install~ i keep getting an error message: "directx error" or "the game is corrupt and setup cannot continue".

i tried uninstalling/reinstalling origin and made sure it was up-to-date, but still no luck. ea live chat says the wait time is 5 minutes, but i've been waiting 25 and still have not reached a human being.

i have now been at this for 2 hours, and i just want to play the game that i paid for.

First, you should probably edit your post and move this thread from the Sims 3 Technical Forum to The Sims Medieval General Discussion. These are two totally different games. I have no clue about this game as I don't have it.

Second, Have you tried searching for your issue on Answer HQ?

oh, shoot. when i posted, it just said "technical discussion" but didn't specify any particular game. maybe i misread the listings?

in any case, it doesn't matter now; through trial & error/sheer dumb luck, i was able to fix it myself. i'm totally not a techie, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction
