My name is Penelope DePlain. I am a young adult with no hopes of ever finding true love. You'll have to forgive my outlook on romance but I am gloomy by nature and I don't like being around people much. I also like the finer things in life and am not shy about telling you my opinion. As you can see, Marcus Flex....one of my so called friends.....is shocked by something I've said.

Since my last boyfriend broke my heart I have agreed to participate in the "Lonely Hearts" challenge. Why? Well honestly, it can't hurt. I'm required to follow some guidelines and complete some help for the lovelorn goals. You can read what I'm rambling on about in first post in this thread.

Okay, so one of the key concepts to finding to romance is to get out there and smile....well, I got out there alright. All I got a  for my effort was a sunburn.

I met this attractive fellow with a fantastic beard. His name is Emmett Michael. A local fisherman. I can tell by the smell. He is plagued by the clumsy trait and always landing in his bucket of chum. Smell ya later Emmett!

I didn't catch this gentleman's name. He was shocked by my opinion of Dina's plunging neckline. I asked about his career and learned he was a stay at home dad. I assumed he was married. He was a bit on the angry side and the conversation quickly became unpleasant. We parted ways.

I heard it was ghost night at the local tavern and decided to stop by for a drink. I ran into Darrell Wray and we chatted for a bit. He's my mail carrier. Nice guy but no sparks. Too bad, I really like ginger hair. The ghosts were mostly friendly. Not as creepy as one would think. A few snobs in the bunch, which I really liked but they were too busy haunting things to get to know. Must be a dead thing.

Did I tell you that I've started writing books? Didn't I? Well, I have, just a few short stories and children's books. I've been able to self publish and made a nice bit of change. Anyway, Gunther Munch is a fellow writer and invited me to join the Avant Gards club. We exchanged numbers. I tried chatting with him but he had to run to work. I hope the next club meeting is soon. I like his smile.
