Transferring old files to new computer

A little while back I had a few odd things happen. One, my account was hacked and I had to create, with help from EA, a new account and move almost everything across. A few worlds didn't go.

The second thing that happened, my mother board fried itself. Don't know how that happened, but it was 11 years old. I bought a new computer and have all my old files from the old hard drive. My missing worlds are on there from the documents section.

I'd like to know if it's possible to move those old files to my current one and how. I'm sure if it's possible, it's fairly easy, but those things just don't sink in well and I'd need simple, step-by-step instructions.

How nice that EA was able to help you out. It's a shame computer parts don't last forever. 11 yrs is impressive.

So in your Documents, do you see Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads? You might have your world(s) still there.

Yes. I have that on my old files and in my new ones. I see the worlds, I'm not sure if I can just slide them from the old file to the new on without trouble.

I do have my old worlds in the old files, but they aren't in the new one.

You can double click the world and it should start downloading. Or, copy and paste into your new Sims folder (Downloads folder). Pull up your launcher and it should be there to install.

I would suggest copying and pasting it somewhere else for safe keeping too since these are the worlds not attached to your account anymore.

Thanks so much for your help. Unfortunately, it's not working. Even my backup files don't transfer to the new game on my computer, even though my old disk stuff is on here. I may have to either buy the missing worlds or do without.
