Aging: Normal vs Long

Are the Aging/Lifespan settings per save, or across all saves?

For example, can I set my game's aging to Long in the save where I play my selfsim family, and in a separate save set it to Normal for my Legacy Challenge family? Will it remember for me so that I don't have to fix it each time I switch?

    Yes, it's per save.

Oh thank goodness! I don't want my kids-based-on-my-rl-kids to age up prematurely because I forget to check upon switch over.

    Thank you Chellejo!

I would say that everyone ages the same if you have it on long or normal and its not per save. Unless you are having the sims in a different save from your other sims. Meaning that the families aren't living in the same neighborhood as your legacy sims are.

Aging options are per save. Whenever starting a new save you should always check them, I think they are copied the settings of your last played save game.
I currently have aging off in most of my saves, but not in my build save. When I start a new save and my build save is the last one I played (or rather saved) my settings will be aging for active household only, off for NPCs and long life span. I've only ever played on the long life span so it's always copied to any of my new saves.
Whether it is switched on (for active household) or off and what happens to NPCs varies per game, depending at what stage I'm playing it, so for new games I have to check. It's not disastrous if I don't, since I usually think about checking it within a sim week, which isn't all that much on the long life span.

Yes but from my understanding the sims are in the same neighborhood so they would all age the same.

Oh no, I have three separate saves, one for story telling, one for my selfsim family, and the other is newly made for my Legacy challenge.
The legacy requires a shorter lifespan than I regularly play, so I just wanted to make sure that when I load either of my other two saves that the lifespan is not automatically changed on them as well.

I love that the aging setting are separate for each save :kissing_smiling_eyes: I only have two saves atm, but still.

If your legacy sims are in the same neighborhood as your other sims then they are going all age the same. If your legacy sims are in another game all together then no they won't all age the same.

Thank you, that's so good to know. I have re-started (rebooted) my Legacy Challenge, and in that you have to play Normal. I prefer Long, so it's nice to know I don't have to go back and reset my other game saves. :)

That would be against Legacy Challenge rules. Your Legacy family is supposed to be the ONLY lot you play in a save.
