Solved: Help - I can't get a case assigned.

So this option never pops up when i click on the computer although it is my objectiv to do so (to get a case). I repaired my game two times and it did not help. I don't know what to do since my sim can not progress in her carrier. The only thing she can do is to go on patrol 
.
Solution to this: " I've done a bit more experimenting with this and it seems to be the colour of the Case Map that breaks things (I have no idea why). I found that if I change the colour I can no longer get a new case assignment, but changing it back to the default colour (the orangey-brown swatch) makes it work again."
