waiter keeps taking food away while sims are eating it!

Hi, I just got the Sims 2 ultimate collection and my sims have gone to the fancy hotel on twikkii island (with bon voyage) and are eating their meals. Suddenly a different waiter will come and take the food away when they are busy eating! Their hunger meter is not full and I have trouble ordering a second plate. Sometimes the second plate does not arrive, even though the waiter takes my second order. I am making one sim order for a group. Could this be the trouble? I played the sims 2 years ago but I never had all the expansions. Now I am excited about the ultimate collection, but sims 2 is proving to be a new challenge. I'm having trouble managing the rapid decline of their needs. Does anyone have any tips for me?

@Rococo1256: Try to do the main needs such as the hunger, bladder, and hygnie.
