Hello everyone!
I know I am a new member but I just recently started a blog where I will soon post my first ever Ch of a story and soon after (after 26th of August) more chapters will follow.
However try as I may my photos don't look as good as I'd like them to.
My hero photo taker and editor must be @Mightydan since his story and photos are awesome. I would like to try to bring that type of pop of color and clarity into my photos as well but try as I may haven't been able to do it..
Here are 3 random photos from my 1st Ch: www.flickr.com/photos/135568000@N04/
Could anyone recommend a free photo editing program and maybe even give me some tips to make them look top notch?
Thank you lots x
P.S: If anyone wants to leave their requests for tips on certain things feel free to do so!

For nice close up shots, I use Lightshot it's free, too.
I use photo bucket to place everything into folders and it's easy to post on this forum, but you don't need it for a blog.
To get nice shots, press the tab button while in game--it will clear the area around the picture (that's full of sim game icons). Then you can zoom in and out and turn the camera to get that right shot.
I use Photoshop to touch up my screenshots. I'm not really that good with it, but there are plenty of tutorials in youtube that give step by step guides on how to do different effects.
In game, I treat my sims as actors and use the build/buy as a set. Some of the builds in my story aren't actual houses, they're just a couple of heavily decorated walls. Also make sure you have plenty of lights, as this will make touching up so much easier.
Thank you for the Pic Monkey tip! I've actually edited a photo and I like how it looks.. now I just have to edit a lot more haha but hopefully my first Chapter will look ok.. for a first chapter at least haha

No thanks needed just saying it as it is At the moment I will try my luck with PicMonkey and see how it goes.
I will take your advice on the setting up of sets. I too use the sims for my current story as actors/puppets so it shouldn't be too hard. We'll see how it goes!
Well in the first photo the character notices the puddle to his left Liked the way his head turned and thought it was a good photo
I have some tricks for achieving emotions in a picture and I will be happy to share some with yoy, if you'd like.
I can say that your pictures are good! You just need that final touch that will make them look, as you said, "top notch".

Oh yay! With the good-looking part I have started experimenting with all sort of programs and I kind of have an idea on how to improve them.
But I would LOVE tricks for achieving emotions since I know that's going to give a more realistic and believable feel to the photos x
Oh, and thank you for checking out my Tumblr! It is such a pleasure that you liked my work! ^_^
