Where have my sims gone?

I bought My Sims last week and after trying to install it (does it need a code?) it seems to uninstall Sims 3. This time after installing it again all of my families have disappeared! Where have they gone and how do I get them back.

No, there is nothing in there. It's like all my previous game play is gone.

sorry if the files arent on your computer then your hunch about mysims maybe right it may have overwritten files from 3 sorry again ive never troubleshooted that game

Im not positive but I think @cale2003 has my sims. Cale can you help op?

Must of been a weird bug then because MySims never overwrit my files for TS3. I don't know how that happened. Did you check all files in my Documents to see if they were hiding somewhere?

Yes, I looked. I took MySims back as they didn't have an installation code for me.
