Hi... I'm trying out some customs clothes and hairstyles for the first time and was wondering if these items are extras or do they replace base game items? Is there an easy way to tell? I've been downloading from TSR.

They will say default or replacement in the name.

The only thing I can see that is close to that is "Re-colour or New"... Could Re-colour be replacement and New mean New?

Re colors are just different colors of objects.

Recolors could be either. They typically mean that it is an EA Mesh with new colors created by the CC maker. Usually it will say if it is a "default replacement"

Unless it says recolor replacement then no. Recolors are just that, recolors. They add color to that item not replace unless it is otherwise stated. New is also in the same category because it is technically new to your game.

I understand it now thanks... It was just the particular items I downloaded didn't say either way. I've just looked at some other stuff and they show they're not replacements :-)

Ok here's some info:
Most cc is standalone items
Some cc is default replacements
Some cc is a recolour which tends to be an extra swatch
By looking at it, you should be able to tell. By the way it looks
