@Piperbird is your name the same in the gallery?? it doesn't have to be a house just one place I can get all the base game plants from, so I don't have to keep traveling all over the place. and they don't have to be perfect. if they are that's great, Thank you so much.
@feetinstockings Yes, I'm Piperbird on the gallery. The room with the plants is just called Perfect Garden, and you will need the medium or tall walls to place it without losing the trees in the planter.
If you want ALL the base game collections (including the plants) here is Pond Library, this is a shot from the back where the garden is.
I also have rooms with all the other collections in them that you can get in little chunks, so if you just want all of the paintings, or all of the space themed things, you can just pick that.
Visit me in the gallery! CC-free builds under origin name Piperbird!
@Piperbird Thank you, I found you and I downloaded all your collector rooms except the fossil room and made it into one big park, but it doesn't look as good as your main building, maybe I'll download that instead. Thank you so much for doing this for fellow simmers to download. I'm still having trouble finding the cherry trees so your garden is perfect. My sims will be able to harvest them and plant their own. Thank you so much.
I had to build something smaller again So I found a picture of this one on pinterest and build it as a starter. It is a great challenge since I used more than 30 columns for the look and they're not that cheap...
But I think the interior turned out allright... And there are some skill building objects in there!
I've just recently started Sims 4 challenges, and I must say, I really enjoy them. This one caught my eye, and I thought I would have a go.
EDIT - I'm known as MoriGelopi on the gallery, and my house is called Modern Starter
I built a small home with a lot value of $17,480, but a gallery value of $18,386. This is a small home suitable for a young couple, or a single individual with room to expand on a 30x20 plot.
Enjoy!
As I had a lot of fun with this build, I'm going to try with the family one and try doing a family starter too I'll keep you posted
I did another one \o/ I hope you like.. I decided to do a small home for my sim Nari Moon and her teenage twins Karla and Josh. So I have done a three bedroom/one bath home on a 20x15 lot, with a budget of 20,000 incl. plot. I hope you enjoy!
It's called Small Family Starter on the Gallery - Enjoy!
@MoriGelopi very cute starters, I especially like the 'attic' tiny bedrooms on the second build which helps give the house an old world feel even with the modern colors and decor.
Side note for all readers/passerby's the index in the op is going to wait a bit longer, my life suddenly got busy again between grandbabies & new physical therapy. Sorry about that.
Alright, I decided to give it a try. This is also the first thing I've ever uploaded to the Gallery, so yay! It costs 19966, which is just under the 20000. I could have added more decoration if I used the cheapest stove and refrigerator, but I added them because I had some extra money.
I tried my hand at a starter with a pool. But, it's just for a single sim or a couple.
-SNIP-
You'd have to save up for patio furniture though. ^^;
Lol! Oh, starter problems...
Say hello to the Aquanomical Loft:
Give yourself a nice deck and pool, all within a nice easy price. Grill not guaranteed not to catch fire.
You can find it under my gallery of the same name.
I built a starter to add. Sassy Starter on a 30x20 lot, 1 bedroom, 1 bath. Purchase Price: $17,860
I intentionally left the backyard basically bare. That way, the sims can add a pool or slide, to their desire (though there is room for both, I believe, and still have room for entertaining and cooking out).
If I didn't get the link right (which it won't let me check before posting), I'll edit and try to fix it.
Bonkaro Musti Everyone
This is my starter home for any single member of the household. Just an 11k you can have basically EVERYTHING, esp. entire bathroom staff!
I made a very boring beige starter. It isn't pretty, but it will house 4 sims (5 if you make someone sleep on the couch!) and it comes in at under 16K.
Figured since I made my recent build into an affordable family home, I might as well make a starter version as well. It was a tight budget, but I did it. The home leaves room to grow though.
Lets make The Sims 4 great again!

@Mmdrgntobldrgn thank you! i'm a huge fan of open floor plans.. especially when it comes to kitchen design.. the hardest part about starters though is balancing sacrifice and style.. I refused to sacrifice the kitchen, so I made it work.
I was also on a frenzy and made a personal starter for my self-sim
I hate the fact landscape sprays don't place right when replacing certain lots

@Mmdrgntobldrgn Oh okay cool! I finished one actually but I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to post pictures, I honestly doubt it since I'm so new. How do I show my house otherwise? and I would actually love to try a few more.

There are two more matching homes that are slightly more expensive (30K and 40K). This is what the entire hood looks like.

I might upload my current Sims' starter house as well. It needs to be edited to how it was before I played for a while, though.
Edit: Here's the second house! I added a few things that it didn't originally have. It's about the same price as the first house.

found the answer already
Your 5x5 challenge house is a cute shell
Your 'starter for me' is also a cute starter with room to grow
I also like your tetris tower and some of the renovation challenge makeovers you've shared.

@Babylove the challenge will go on for as long as simmer's want to try their hand at building starters per the guidelines I laid out in the op.
I just haven't had the time to dedicate to the thread between rl, grandbabies, and the challengcy blog I've been trying to keep up with.
