Where does the download appear?

I have gone to Mod The Sims and downloaded an item for TS4 that was installed by adding the files to the Tray section of the game. I was under the impression that when I opened the game the download I just added would show up in My Library. But it was not there. When you add files to the Tray Section of the game where would they show up when I open the game? Maybe I was unlucky and chose a download that was broken, hence it did not show in My Library.

P.S. Maybe I am not installing the files correctly. I am opening the download and transferring all of them, usually around 7 files, to the Tray Section of the game. If this is not correct or I need to do something else please let me know. Thank you all again.
