Nraas DebugEnabler Question

lanlynlanlyn Posts: 5,020 Member
@igazor or anyone? I'm using the View Inventory option of DebugEnabler on an NPC (townie?), a roommate non-active sim. I've been able to add a sketchpad, umbrella, and Flying Disc successfully from my active sim's personal inventory to hers. But the main things that I wanted to add (a death flower and a Multi-Tab) just disappeared and wouldn't be added. Do you know what the issue is here? Or know another way to give this non-active sim these two items? I'm not even sure an NPC uses death flowers, but I'm pretty sure NPCs will use Multi-Tabs...at least in the past when I've split them off from my household and they became NPCs, I saw them continue to use the tablet later.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

EDIT: I've heard that if you try to gift items, the receiving NPC doesn't keep the gifts. It's just a gesture. Maybe I should research a little more on that idea. ??

Update. I put the Multi-Tab out on a table and the sim picked it and and started using it. However, when she stopped, it looked like she stuck it in her inventory, but when I checked, it was not there. It had disappeared. And she has not used it since, but has gone back to reading the books she took from the bookcase (which are in her inventory now). I don't understand the problem. Going back to the save before she picked up the tablet. Too much money to waste until I can figure if what I want to do is possible.

Inactive sims are incapable of holding onto the Multi-Tabs in their inventory for more than a few sim minutes without losing or selling them. The NRaas PocketProtector mod should fix that.

@igazor Thank you so much! I now have PocketProtector downloaded. Decided to get the Potion Case one as well as the Tablet version as long as I was installing. I'll give it a try and see if she'll hang on to her tablet now! I really appreciate your help. :)

@igazor Just to let you know, PocketProtector seems to be working for me. The sim is completely on her own now, but checking on her after giving her the tablet, it's still in her inventory and I've seen her use it too. Thanks again!

I never understood why we even needed a separate mod to stop this, but it's so helpful it doesn't matter. And you're welcome. :)
