Is there a bug with the culinary/bartender career?

My sim went all the way to the top of the culinary branch, no problem. Now I want her to join the bartender career. She can't get past level 5 of the culinary branch to join the mixology branch. She is stuck at executive chef and can't advance. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Switching career branches isn't something the game is set up to let you do. I'd suggest posting in the Sims 4 General Discussion area to ask if there are any cheats to make it possible.
