Super Ideas for Expansion Packs

«1
Well First of All the Sims 4 is getting a little bit boring and because I'm a Harry Potter Fan I Really Thought the Sims 4 Makers could make a 'Harry Potter Expansion Pack' where you could get Hogwarts clothes, The Dark Mark, Wands and all kinds of different Spells that the Sims could use on each other but I don't know whether anybody wants that!!

Anybody Agree With Me???

The Sims doesn't have rights over certain things, we only get parody/funny versions of things. The only thing we got was a Star Wars costume pack for Halloween.

This would be called Copy right. It won't be able to become a feature in the sims 4, but I guess they could bring back supernaturals that is pretty similar.

Well they just as easily could do a Pigfarts school or witchcraft and wizardry. or does that break a copyright?

I love video games because of the things that I could never do in real life... For instance, in the sims you can get a job and a house.

As neat as that would be and copyrights aside, Harry Potter isn't as relevant as it was a few years ago now that the series is over (aside from the spin-off movie they're making), so that makes it very very unlikely

Rowling did not invent the concept of magic schools. It's been done before, those novels just did not achieve the same level of mainstream acceptance as Harry Potter and are thus not as well known. There was one in a Wizard of Earthsea for example.

I pray to the simming gods that the days of commercialism were left behind when they stopped making content for TS3. A magic/supernatural expansion would be good. An education expansion would be better. When both are released (if both are made) then maybe we will have a magic school and that could be nice (but not high on my list of priorities). I don't want to see any HP or HP rip-offs though. It'd be both crude and dated.

I for my part wouldn´t be all too interested.
I already found the fantasy settings in Sims 3 a little bit overdone

I know, right?! People are getting way ahead of themselves asking for multiplayer and fantasy stuff when really it'd be better for everyone if EA just started with making the basics that will add lasting gameplay. We still need more fleshed out life-stages (something that will make teens feel like teens for example), cars (so it feels like sims are heading somewhere & also opens up things like learning to drive), weather, schools, ladders (I just love ladders), etc.

Don't stress, it's almost guaranteed there will be a magic or supernatural game pack or expansion some time in the future. It's not Katy Perry sweet treats, most simmers won't object to it's creation and many will want it. It's just too early for it to be an idea that everyone is going to support because we don't want EA to make it before we get what we really want (and what we really want isn't the same for all of us).

Why do you need us to agree with you anyway? You can want what you want and I can want what I want. Both opinions can exist without invalidating the other.

I want a Supernatural EP too, I know some people hate Supernatural and that's okay. I do think if EA pushes it out sooner it'll get it out of the way for the people who don't want it. It's just that people like me wanna get it across to EA that I do want a Supernatural EP, but I want it done right. If we don't say anything then they won't know what people want.

Lol, who's being stroppy? If you weren't the OP I would've thought that was who you were directing that comment at. The only reason I'm here is because supernatural was one of my fave expansions.

You seemed to be freaking out that nobody was excited about your "new" idea so I was trying to be supportive. Don't worry... I won't be back on this thread.

Sims 4 Farm Life would be great ;) it would include Basic pets + Farm animals. Also Seasons, Magic and Superstar EPs would be cool to have too.

@ULIBABA66: I'd have to say no to a Pets EP that included farm animals. While I love having dogs and cats, small furries, snakes birds and turtles, the horses did nothing but cause problems by getting stuck all over town because they're large animals and they weren't animated very well with regard to pathing. I know that a lot of people wanted this type of EP for TS3 but when it came down to it, I think they did the best they could, but horses broke a lot of Mac players games and just caused occasional lag in mine. Pets is always a good EP to have, but as they've gone back to you being completely unable to see what your baby needs, its likely that we would be unable to control the pets.

The 'culling' system would also cause a lot of problems as ghosts apparently take up a slot contributing to the 180 sim residents in a town. What happens when ghost animals are taken into consideration? They seriously should never have had any ghosts be labelled as active town residents unless they were actually ghosts on the players lot. Sorry, don't know how I got onto ghosts there!

I personally won't buy any EPs for this game (as I found it extremely disappointing and restrictive). If I had to throw a hat out there though, I would say a Seasons EP, something like Generations to expand upon and make families a more viable way to play the game (and give much needed excitement to child and teen lives, and possibly bring toddlers back), a university EP, a holiday EP - but one that works more like Sims 2 holidays versus Sims 3 World Adventures, a Game Pack which offers city living and apartments (similar to the apartments in Sim 2 Apartment Life and not Sims 3 Late Night). They've already started advertising an Ambitions/Open for Business type EP and I think that would be all I would want. Though as said above, I always end up getting Pets for my Sims games becuase I love my pets.

Supernatural was definitely not my favorite expansion for TS3, and I would definitely like to see more realistic expansions that are pertinent to gameplay rather than fairies, werewolves, etc. Generations seemed like an insignificant expansion in TS3, but in my opinion it was the most needed, and it was definitely a game-changer for me. The entire life cycle was fleshed out and life for Sims was just so more exciting and realistic. I think Generations features should have been included in the base game, though; they were just so important to immersion and gameplay for me that I cannot imagine playing without it. That being said, I think there needs to be an expansion similar to Generations for TS4. That would be the most important to me.

Pets was a complete mess for me in TS3. I had to buy a new graphics card, and even then, it still glitched horribly. I did like it, however, but I also don't think it's that important to start with. Later on, maybe, but for now I want stuff that makes gameplay more fluid, realistic, and enjoyable. Aside from Generations I would love to see a University EP, and even more so, an urban living sort of EP. I definitely want to see new worlds and places to explore. I might be a minority here, but I spent so many hours playing through and thoroughly enjoying the World Adventures EP in TS3.

Anyway, an expansion on life cycle and families, like Generations, definitely needs to be implemented. I think that's what I'd look forward to most.

You have to remember, TS4 is trying to go back to it's TS1 roots, EA and Maxis wants to start fresh by going back to the beginning. Maxis wasn't involved until the end of TS3 and those EPs were probably the best, but they also are moving forward at the same time. They're trying out whats right/wrong and horses could be made better certainly with a closed world, I'm sure they'll show the pets needs as they're not like babies. Pets are the same as sims, but a different type of control. I'm really excited to see pets with the new CAS, no more sliders. :)

You could just as easily make sims that look like wizards or download clothes and stuff. But yeah I agree with the previous poster, seasons!

I loved generations, along with seasons. And I think those should have been implemented in the basegame this time around.... But what did we get.... Boredom is what we got.
