Autonomous turning?

I sent two Sims from the household to the cinema. They are good friends. I was enjoying watching everything when all of a sudden I heard the scary music. I was frantically looking around trying to find where they were when I realized that he had turned her! I hadn't intended for this to happen, but it was okay as it was kind of interesting and only in my Test Sims neighborhood anyway. Is this something that they can do autonomously, or did I mis-click?

They shouldn't autonomously turn one another unless you have a mod that does this, such as nraas storyprogression and one of the modules that does this for your non-active sims (those you don't control).
