Maxis request: Freeze household state when swithing between familes.

I request Maxis that you add an option to allow users to freeze a households state when we switch between households.
Nothing is more annoying then switching to another household for whatever reason (often in my case for story teller reasons) only to return to my "base" household to find that the husband has maxed his career and his wife now hates her best friend.
If we could freeze household states via some kind of option it would be much appreciated.
I'm far from the only person here who would appreciate such a feature I believe.
