I've started playing again in the last few weeks, after taking a couple of months off, and it really seems to me like job performance has slowed considerably. Even if I have all the requirements met, send them off to work in the perfect mood and with the daily task done, it only creeps up a little bit. Promotions are few and far between. I haven't maxed a profession once since starting this new game, and I used to do it as long as I was attentive (even without perfect moods and daily tasks) to requirements before. Is there a change here? Do I need to do something different? (I want to start the new Apocalypse challenge, but if I can't max a career in a normal lifetime, there's not much point.)

To me they were so easy I could get a promotion a day.
You could use cheats to get a promotion
Testingcheats true -> career.promote (job title)
As for mods um to make things go faster (post patch) I''m not sure, you'd have to check modthesims.info
