"There was an error during startup. Please see the log for details".

I uninstalled all of my Sims 3 games when I got the Sims 4. I just installed the base game back onto my computer because I missed the game.
I installed it normally with the release patch. When opening the launcher it prompted me to update my game to the latest patch so I did. I updated the game but now when I load up the launcher it says the message "There was an error during startup. Please see the log for details". I have tried uninstalling it and installing it a few times but after updating to the latest patch it does this.

I have searched for the solution to this problem but none have helped. It's getting quite annoying, anybody know a fix?
