Instead Of Delaying The Base Game, They Delayed The Expansion

Is that not what this is a case of? If EA had given the devs more time to work on the base game by delaying its release then we wouldn't be waiting so long for the first expansion as they wouldn't be trying to chuck in everything we wanted in the base game. Ie, the base game would have been delayed a few months and the expansion would have ended up being released at the same time anyway.

Or if Maxis would have stepped up and said the Base Game wasn't ready then the game might have been delayed instead of the expansions.

From what I'm reading it only looks like EA wants to put its (the expansion) sales into next years profits to bolster stocks. I don't know... it's nothing but a thing to me.

It feels like it wasn't delayed long enough- but I know that's only my opinion.

That's what I was thinking but not really understanding business and stock doubted myself. So if this is the case, the EP could be out as soon as April 7th which falls on a Tuesday.

Sorry OP, but I am closing this post as we have so many on this topic already. Just to clarify:

1 We have not yet announced a release date for the first expansion pack.
2 In the US, the fiscal year runs from April to March.
