Well, I'm a classic Simmer who still plays the classic Sim games such as the first SimCity and The Sims. I feel lonely since those forums have died off. I'm sure that many here might feel the same. So, it would be nice to discuss and chat. There, we could compare those games to the newer ones and suggest to bring back ideas from the past. It would be nice to have a place that isn't dead. But if an Off-Topic section never makes it, a new one just for the old games would be lovely.

Two sub-forum catogories sounds nice. But make it three because not every sim game is a simcity or the sims.
And, there is not a sim game that came earlier then simcity, although there is one game that will wright made s
just before the sim series kicked off. I don't think it belongs here though.

Does anyone like this idea?

It will let some of us classic Sim game fans not only talk about the original games, but also bring up discussions on which was the best and would seem good for the Sims 3.

I'm just sad because the older forums have died out. Nobody is there so I feel alone. These are just some games which a fading away. I still watch the intros and enjoy the music. You can't beat the classics.

It feels so shameful to bump, but I really want to hear from other people. Please answer. :-( Ever since I stopped playing the newer games and went back for a while, it feels so fun. Nobody is on those forums anymore so I wish that we could revive the topic in general. Please respond.

I approve of this post. And as much as a fan I am, I need to hop on Ebay and look for the much older classics. Would be a blast to enjoy. Thanks for creating this thread.

And yeah, I remember SimMars...maybe some day...some day (guess we'll have to settle for the SimCity 4 mods)

i've never played any other sims games. (unless you count Spore). Personally, I'm a bit tired of people comparing previous Sim games to Sims3. I mean, if you really can't stand Sims3, stop playing... go back to sims-whatever. I wish people would look at Sims3 as something fresh.

The main reason I didn't play the Sims before is because the graphics were so terrible. The one impression I had of them were these rectangular paper dolls, and that was when I was playing WoW and SecondLife.(I know I know ewww). As far as Sims2, well lets just say a lot of people had the game installed... *cough* And besides I'd burned myself out with SecondLife which still had better graphics and more building freedom (and its been free for years). The Sim games looked terrible compared to the other games out at the time.

ps. I can't help but notice the women in Sims2 were more well endowed, but then again, I'd rather smaller endowments than one that are perpetually too big.

What about SimTower (1994)? Loved that game - spent lots of time building the perfect office/residential/hotel tower.

SimLife was the first game I bough with my money still have it somewhere in my game boxes. If I find it and make it work on my comp I'll try to do a video of it.

SimFarms and Simlife were my favourite at the time I spent great amounts of hours playing those two

Well you did include Sim Theme Park that isn't related at all with Maxis or with Mr Will Wright, it's from other company (Bullfrog) that was bough by EA.

And from what I read about Sim Tower... Maxis bough the license of it and published and Yoot Tower was only released for sega saturn so hmmm...
