A Case of The Disappearing Friend :(

My first post on the sims 4 forums.. awesome!

So I have a question about relationships with townies/npc's.

I have a young adult sim and I had been trying to gain 5 friends by visiting community lots and interacting with npc/townies. Well my sim would build up a pretty good base relationship with one and then I would make her leave to go home because she would be low on needs at the end of the day. The next sim day I would go to invite over the npc friend and they disappear completely from her relationships bar as if they had never met... why is this happening? At first I thought it was a fluke thing but then it happened a few other times. I am starting to get very confused.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes, this is at least the third thread of this sort I've seen over as many days. Not sure why friendship degrades so very quickly. Some suggest that the game itself is culling the Sims from the game. I would report the issue and see if they get around to fixing it.

Possibility one: Friendship degraded faster than you expected. I set the rate at 50% of the default rate with this mod: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=534925 (You can set your own rate)

Possibility two: A townie got "culled" by the game to be replaced with a fresh one. You can stop that happening with this mod: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=535110
