[BUG] Knock on Door bug

As of this evening, I've encountered the Knock on Door bug. I have tested with two separate Sims in two separate files. My Sims are not given any opportunity to Knock on Door. This bug cropped up for me after downloading the latest patch (the pool patch). I have no mods, no CC and nothing from the Gallery. Just the game as it came out of the box and the patches.

According to my research, the Knock on Door bug has been documented as far back as Week 1. The only fix I've found is to download a mod. To me, that is100% unacceptable. It is a major bug, not *entirely* game-breaking, but significant nonetheless. If EA can't be 🐸🐸🐸🐸 to fix it, I'll be darned if I'm going to give them a pass by going to an outside party. I will not download a mod to fix this issue. Period.

I *may* continue to try to play Sims 4 without visiting other Sims, but there's a good possibility I may give up on the game altogether. I've given it a good try. I *wanted* to like it. Heck, I wanted to *love* it. Sadly, it's just too frustratingly buggy, glitchy, laggy and crash-prone for my taste. There's not enough content to keep things entertaining. There aren't enough new features to make up for the features which were eliminated. It is not the game it could have or should have been.

If it weren't for some talented Simmers who came up with Challenges, I would have shelved Sims 4 after Week 1. The Challenges kept me coming back. Thank you @katoregama, @Terrylin, @lotlot80, @cefthy and the Simmer who consolidated the list of Challenges, @Nicarra60, for creating fun ways to work with Sims 4.

Bottom line, though: I simply don't need a game needs this much babysitting. The only high maintenance thing in my home should be me .

After the update I noticed that when I clicked on a door I wasn't able to choose "knock on door" but when I clicked under the door or on the house I was able to choose that option. I don't know why it's changed. Try clicking around the door to see if it works.

@SimPoseyYum did you see this? Hate to see you are having issues. Hope this works!

Haven't had time to play so haven't gotten the patch yet. As I look around I might wait for a spell and see what fixes they come up with before I patch. Can't play for a couple of days so will know by then.

Good to know. I have not gone visiting since the patch. It's not something I do a lot, but when I do it, I want it to work.

Thank you for the tip, @stewielover1992. I was so put off by the game last night that I "shut it down" (does her best Gordan Ramsey imitation). Still needing my Sims fix, however,so I went back to Sims 3 .

I do promise to try it, however, in the next day or so. I appreciate you making the suggestion and I really hope it works for me! Heck, I hope it works for everyone (no need to be selfish, right?) .

Hiya, We are currently working on a fix. in the mean time, you can click on the ground, wall or roof of your neighbor's house to get the "Knock on Door" interaction.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to this thread sooner -- RL had my attention for the better part of tonight .

@lotlot80 Congratulations on getting @Nicarra60 's list stickied. I'm really glad you suggested it and took the steps to get it done. I offer my thanks to @SimGuruShannon for taking care of that as well.

I have this problem too since the patch. It happened once before the first week i played but cleared itself up. I have deleted all mods and started a new game, did a game repair from origin, nothing works. This is not a problem for everyone however, so not sure what i did to cause this.
