Game doesn't load anymore...

The first time I started after the pool update everything went really funky during start-up. The plumbob was flashing all over and it took about five minutes. However, it did eventually load so I didn't think much of it.

However now it doesn't load at all anymore. It starts, gets to the Sims logo and that's it. It just gets stuck there and doesn't respond anymore. I've gotten rid of all mods, I've rebooted the computer, I pressed 'repair game' in origin and yet.. nothing. It just doesn't work anymore.

I was so excited for pools and now I feel like I've lost my entire game :((((

Try refreshing the game folder. See my sig link about factory settings - and be sure to do the part about moving your content, not deleting it, so you don't lose it all.

Thanks for both your help! @luthienrising The factory reset did the trick :) Still annoying that it was necessary but if I can play in peace now I'm happy enough :)

    I'm having this problem now.
How do I refresh the game folder? How do I do a factory reset? I don't see any link in your sig. :/

It only worked when I removed the folder, but when I put it back in, it stopped again. :(

Pull the contents of the Mods folder back out. Instead, add them back in gradually, especially CC.

Thank you, it seems to have worked! It was one file that had never created problems before. :)
