Rocket Science is hard as heck to level up?

Is this my first glitch..ooor...
I've had my sim reading Vol. 2 foreverrrr and still no leveling up after hours and hours and HOURS of solid reading. She's read Level 1. Got through that pretty easy. But Level 2 is proving hardcore.
Anyone else having problems?

Try building the rockets, it gets the skill up faster.

Sounds like it might be a glitch. Have you tried getting them to build a rocket and explore space? Those options have worked for me.
Dissatisfied with Sims 4 and hoping for a better Sims 5

Re-read Book one. Book two is probably beyond you if you only read book one once.

Book 1 will last you from Skill level 1-4, Book 2 5-6/7 and Book 3 6/7-8/9 I believe. These are approximations from something I've read about when to read what book.

I usually hit level 5/6 by the time I finish building a rocket and then as I upgrade it finishes it out. I never have a problem with it...

Oh and another way is to work on the rocket, building or upgrading with energising decor nearby. Builds the skill MUCH quicker. B)

I had that problem with the mixology skill. I had to have her read book 1 again. Just pick up the book and see if that skill vial above their head shows up. If it doesn't, go back a level. If book one's vial doesn't show up, then you can move forward. But it is 4 levels for the first book now, I think.

And after building the ship, explore space... a lot! Each trip gives a big boost.

I have to say I was shocked someone is trying to raise their rocket science with a book (I know, IRL it makes more sense though lol) like already mentioned, skill goes up with building your rocket, and upgrading it, I've never even considered reading a skill book for it.

My first sim's child maxed just by taking trips in her mom's fully-upgraded rocket, which gives fun. Totally painless.

Edit: Should probably add, before someone gets the wrong impression, that the "child" was an adult at the time lol

The fastest way to build up the Rocket Science skill is to build the rocket and start going on missions. Every crash landing and upgrade builds the skill. By the time I was doing the final upgrade (which requires level 9), I was at level 10.
