Portrait Pannel Help!

I have master controller and it works and everything but i wanted more than 6 pets so i got portait pannel so i downloaded that, I whent into sims and I found out that I couldn't switch sims, I then looked on the nraas website a bit more and found a thing called ScriptError Omamemmie. Next to the file it said household switching issue, I thought this would fix my switching sim problem so i opened up the file in winrar and funnily enough it wasnt a .package file or a .sims3pack or anything else, it was a mxl file! I didn't know where to put it or anything, so i just put it up in my mods folder and started the game, when i got into my active family I still couldn't change it. I have asked people on SUKC and nobody knows, please help!
