buying stuff

Ok so i got the game and made a couple sims but i'm stuck because i only have one bed and i guess it's too early for my two sims to sleep together so i need another bed but can't figure out where to get stuff for the house. How do i see what i can buy?

In the upper right corner, where it says Build. That's actually Build/Buy.

Top right hand corner is a round, buy/build button.
