new patch question

The new patch did not fix my family issue. I did cas.fulleditmode and some still are grey and says "cannot edit existing sim" and the others that are not grey do not allow me to choose a different option. Curious is any one else is having this problem or if there is something I am doing wrong? The family is huge and about to go onto third gen. I really do not want to delete them and start over.. although it is tempting since it is really bothering me
