Altering textures question

Does anyone know how to alter the texture on a clothing file?

I want to go from this:


to this:



However, as you can see, the ties are still showing in the new file.

Is there something I can do to get rid of that part of the texture?

You would have to edit the normal map and specular map too, to remove those details.

Hopefully this is something that will be moddable in not too long.
