Creating Harper- A Sims 4 Baby Challenge *Updated 10/15* «1234...Next Go

Hello and welcome to my baby challenge thread! I am really excited to be working on this story, and I hope that other people will find enjoyment from it too. If not, well, at least I entertained myself. :P It is going to be told in arcs, each one about the current family heir.

Quick summary of the current arc:
Finley Harper was created, not born. Her maker wishes for her to bear an abundance of children, but she simply wants to discover a life for herself. Will she bow down to her creator and become the mother to an enormous family, or will she strike out her own path?

Creator’s Rules:
• Only one Harper may be tasked with providing children at a time (the current heir/provider)
• Current provider will be blessed with eternal youth so long as they hold the title
• Cannot step down until one of their children wish to take their place
Additional Rules:
• Goal is to get to 100 points
o Each child born to the current heir is worth one point
o When a new heir is chosen, they inherit half the points of their parent (round down)
o They do not inherit points if their parent died unexpectedly
• Babies can be aged at any time
• Children can only be aged when they are A students
• Teens can only be aged when they are A students
• The current heir may only have up to five children with the same person
o It is okay if this rule is accidentally broken ie: having four children with the same man and then having a pair of twins
• When a new heir is selected, they must move into a new house or lot, not taking anyone else with them
• To count as a point, a child must live with their parent from baby to young adult
• Other than the rules above, anyone may be moved in or out of the household at any time
• Current heir may have any job or no job
• No money or mood cheats allowed

I really like the 100 baby challenge. It took me until Into the Future expansion pack to try it out, but once I did I really loved it. It was a different way to play and it was refreshing. I think the way you're going about the challenge for Sims 4 is interesting; and don't worry, I'm sad about toddlers as well... I definitely wanted to have a save where I played out a 100 baby challenge, but with the toddlers not in the game... it's going to be so weird.. so I think I am going to put that challenge on hold until/if toddlers are released. Please, EA.

Anyways, I look forward to seeing how you go about this challenge as it will definitely be different and props to you. : )

Oh, thank you for the kind comment! I wasn't expecting a response so quickly. I think it will be weird without toddlers, but hopefully they come within the first or second expansion. Although that would be tricky to explain in a story haha.

Let us know how it turns out! I was going to do a supernatural 100 baby challenge in TS3, but it kept crashing and I got PO'd and gave up. But the web name is reserved for whenever Supernatural comes out for Sims 4 and hopefully it will translate well. If you could write about any tips/tricks/observations you come across while trying this PLEASE. I'm sure there are many of us who want to know how it plays out.

I've never done a baby challenge but from what I've read you put the lifespan on the longest and have 100 babies? Correct me if I'm wrong. I think it would be interesting to see how many babies a Sim could have in a normal lifespan. Literally being pregnant every day of your life. Once the baby is born you have to get pregnant that day, though I can see it being hard since there's no jingle and have to take the pregnancy test.

Yeah that's pretty much the gist of it. There not being a jingle will be strange.

I'm probably going to try it too in The Sims 4, even without my precious toddlers... Can I ask a rather irrelevant question: do babies in The Sims 4 have different outfits according to gender or is it the same for both genders?

I have no idea. I've only seen the green jumper. I'm hoping there are more colors as well.

Also, you should either make a story or just post pictures of your challenge, gothprincess. I love reading them!

LOL I see you had the experience of having one of your characters show up in a random tux for no reason. Mitchell from my story keeps doing. And I had to think of some sort of explanation for it when Ken did it too.

I'm still really enjoying your story. I think I see the end of Manu's role in the family approaching soon.

Brandon is always wearing a tux lately! He must have a really fancy social life. I kinda thought up an explanation for it, but not really. I'm having a bug where my sim doesn't look pregnant until the day she gives birth. That's going to be tricky to reason away haha.
