Why would they be updating the Sims 3 forum in preparation for the Sims 4??

You got me. Unless they are standardizing the forum software (like the latest version of phb or whatever).

I don't trust EA. My immediate thought was that the TS3 store is in its death throes in order to force us to move on to TS4.

Why would they be releasing a new store item and then close the Store? The Store for Sims 2 stayed open for several years after they stopped "supporting" the game. I think it closed in 2012???? Or was it 2011?

I don't know, I never used the TS2 store, and I didn't get TS3 until it had been out for a few years. But they're already not doing things for TS4 like they did with TS3. Apparently simpoints rolled over from TS2 to TS3, but they won't to TS4. I don't mean I think they're closing the TS3 store this weekend, but considering the way they're desperately shoving TS4 down our throats, I'd be surprised if the TS3 store lasts even through the end of this year.

Well, I'm getting the last few things I want today. But who knows what EA is thinking.

I hope they don't close the store before warning us! If they did that, they'd likely be facing another lawsuit from Simmers! I have no intention of EVER buying Sims 4, so if they close the Sims 3 store they just lose the chance to milk more money out of me!

They probably won't close the Store completely for a couple of years, similar to Sims 2...but not a bad idea to start backing up your store purchases just in case.

EA would tell folks if they were closing the Store. They gave folks the heads up a couple of months before the Sims 2 store closed.

Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads

Copy everything in that folder onto a USB stick/External Drive etc.
