A look at what I found in the build trailer...

«1
I'm hoping to add photos, but please don't hold me to that as I've got both my kids home with me now and dinner to cook  But here's a list of things I noticed in the trailer and what I THINK(obviously I could be wrong) they mean!!

:16- in the background I see what looks like a jungle gym possibly. I really hope for some new playground stuff!

:18- the UI has a searchbar.... what?!

:20- Piano! Yes!! Now hopefully children can play them as well!!

:22- Different balcony types? Maybe they are just fences, but I like that we are getting a decent variety!

:30- street car tracks, public trashcan... hopefully this all means open world?

:43- You can change the color scheme of the rooms in blueprint mode!

1:40- Cacti are back!! OOhh and a lama hedge!

1:48- The counter island looks to have a rounded edge, or maybe that's the bar?

1:53- off to the side I see a community garden!!

1:55- are those newspaper boxes?? Maybe we can choose to buy the paper instead of having it dropped off every day!!

1:56- finally a normal coffee pot and more upper cabinet selections!

2:01- a wedding venue! Maybe this will add new depth to weddings!! I hope!

2:05- in the background there's a building over water... could we possibly have swimming in the ocean in the base game?!

2:07- the ability to change chimney types... but where are the fireplaces?!

2:08- a sim running around a track behind the house!

2:09- someones eating a slice of cake and drinking a glass of milk!!!

2:12- streetcars, will these replace the taxi's? that would be great and probably cut down on the clutter for performance!

2:23- what's up with the crafting bench? What is she making... hmmmm?

I tried to catch as much as I could going frame by frame. Did you all notice anything else?? I'm finally starting to get excited about this game I think!

Man! you've got good eyes. I just watched it through twice and stopped it quite a few times but I only caught the coffee maker and the person running track. Of course, I already knew about the street car. Someone said they saw a duck (!) but I couldn't quite catch that. I really like the way the food looks this time around, too.

This is exciting - at least to me

A newspaper stand to buy a newspaper would be fantastic because I have a habit of forgetting to have a sim to grab the paper from time to time. And the next thing I know is I see a bunch of old newspapers piled up around the mailbox. :D

If there is in fact a wedding venue, I hope that we can create different types of weddings, like wedding packages that Sims can purchase and will include different options depending on the amount of money you spend. That way all of my Sims' weddings won't look the same. This may be a bit much to ask for since it is so specific, but I would enjoy the variety. It might make me throw more weddings if it is done this way. That way we could possibly have themed weddings or at least ones tailored to specific colors.

Or I guess I can just do it the old way and do it myself.

I must say, though, that I am intrigued by the fact that it seems the groom is reading his wedding vows. Still no officiant though, huh?

Oh I hope we have ducks! Even if they are just spawners!! I like the food too, idk why but I love to have my sims cook a wide variety of foods so I hope we start off with a good amount of recipes!

I'm always the same way!! I hate having all those papers littering my yard!

I'm hoping for the same. I would love too if you could hire a wedding photographer and assign a maid of honor, groomsmen and all. I doubt it will be too involved though, at least not from the very start!

Hmm did anyone see a butterfly/bird fly towards the lamp post in the far left at 1:46?
Also at 1:48 there's a white thing floating across the lake on the right. Is this just the reflection of the sun, or the duck jaletu2005 said someone saw?

I saw both! Good catch. That is definitely a bird of some sort because it was moving way too fast to be a butterfly. But keep in mind that they are probably spawners. It seemed to be flying out of the tree.

Converseshoes, I checked it out at 1:48 and it does indeed look like a duck or goose! Walking right along the edge of the lake. Maybe it's a swan instead but it's definitely some type of bird.

Wouldn't swans swimming on the lake be great?

Yeah, it would be a nice touch if birds were in the base game :)
Also idk if I read wrongly, but I thought people were saying that ponds are only seen outside lots, but there's a pond clearly inside the lot at 2:02.

Good catch! I've watched the trailer in slow motion stopping constantly and didn't catch the bird or the duck/swan whichever it is! Those would be great touches!

The pond is definitely inside the lot, you can clearly see the lot boundary lines if you look, they are lit up in light green.

Edit: Unfortunately it looks like the pond could just be an object. I hope i'm wrong.

Good catch! Totally missed those! Wouldn't it be fun if our sims could feed the ducks, or go bird watching like they did in the sims 2?!

I noticed the rounded counter and search bar as well and all I can say is YES!!!! My #1 most wanted feature was a search function. I hope it lets us search for furniture because finding some stuff is a total pain in the butt in TS3.

I hope my Sims and lots aren't too terrible!

I agree! It would also be cool if we could make our own collection folders or favorites category because I know there are certain things I use way more often and I hate having to search through all the junk to find it!!

That would be a very charming thing to add to the game! I'd love that.

And I agree with the OP about the coffee pot. I'm glad it's normal-looking. It looks very nice.

I noticed the pricing when he was building the 1st house, $12,000 for a bathroom . . . $22,000 for a kitchen. I don't know if the prices are final, but they are similar to what you would pay in RL. I like it!

In TS3, you could buy a whole house for $12,000. It makes me wonder how hard the sims will have to work to earn enough money to have a nice house. This could be the early ramblings of a challenging game!

At 1:45, when it's showing the full house. Do you see that bird that flies out of the tree on the right?

Yeah, it would be a neat addition to the gameplay if say a sim could take his/her children to feed the ducks on weekends or something. :)
Hopefully we'll hear a lot more about what's going to be in the game at E3.

I was looking at some screenshots of the build vid, that another simmer had kindly post on another thread about what was spotted in the vid. I had noticed a suit of armor in the Goths' house, three tiered fountain out in the yard of one of the houses. A tea set, and a sims drinking what looks to be a berry flavored tea of some kind. :D

When they are building Bella and Morty's house, you can see that the street gutters appear to be wet. And there is nothing on the sidewalk to cast a shadow, plus it goes from a light damp look to a dark wet look closer to the curb. So, this may mean that we get rain?
