Hollow, scary horses

Generally my game is fine with pets. I've never had any issues with this EP such as deformed pets (I have fluff, no distortion, GPU has 1GB of dedicated memory) as I've build my PC specifically for this game. Anyway, in one of my games, not all of them, the horses in Appaloosa Plains have no eyeballs! It's disturbing and I think it's something to do with this particular game, but I thought I would check and see if anyone else has experienced this. Let me know if there is a way around it or if I'll just have to deal with not getting too close to my horses to notice they don't have any eyes!
